People are free to enjoy the board as they choose to and, as long as rules are not being broken, they're allowed to go on in their way. We all have different tastes and interests here, different posting and writing styles, etc., and that's fine.
The problem is: It's annoying as hell to drive down a "normal" highway, littered with trash glass bottles that people have dropped, trying to avoid getting a flat tire. But if you KNOW that you're entering a road full of broken glass, then it's your own problem and you knew what you were getting yourself into. Junk is junk. It's called pollution, and it's no different here.
Dropping worthless junk posts all over the place, just saying "Nice post, man" 20 times a day, etc. is the same. It clutters the board, slows it down, costs FreeOnes (bandwidth) money, and aggravates many members. That's what the games forum is for -- it's a glass receptacle where people can drop one-liners and silly posts. Some people treat the board like a chat room rather than a message board, or post one after another when they should be PMing.
Not every post has to be lengthy or overly-intellectual, for certain; I myself drop the occasional one-liner comment, but there is so much junk being dropped lately in the main "talk" forum, and some people are irritated by it (hence this discussion).
I don't think Digital should be given grief for playing around in the games forum; no one ever gave LadyLove any hassle for it, and probably 95% of her posts were in those threads. At least Digital's keeping "the glass on the right road!!!" lol :nanner: :2 cents:
Cheers. :hatsoff:
