for those of you that watched the game tonight you have witnessed history. they will be talking about the 2004 Red Sox when we are dead and gone, probably for the next 100 years.

even though i knew it was all over in the bottom of the ninth, when they got that last out I still couldn't believe it until they all started piling on each other. just...wow.

Amazing, just an incredible 8 game run. Every guy on the team came up big at one time or another, nobody slumped and nobody fucked up when it matter. Shit, Derek Lowe won all 3 series closing games. And Schilling, what more needs to be said.

I just could'nt believe it either, one thing was sure every season, that the Sox and the Cubs will not win the World Series... so next year, the Cubs curse will end !!

I'm happy also for Bill Buckner, my guess now is that he will be welcome again in Boston.

Man, if they would have got A-Rod at the start of the year, maybe they would not have one the World Series with him in the lineup... since the wanted to trade Manny Ramirez for him... and he turn out to be the MVP !! :eek:

As a lifelong Yankee fan , i cant say im happy the beanheads....oops i mean Red Sox...LOL....won the series, but i must give credit where credit is due.....the Sox played great ball, they never gave up, they fought hard, they came together as a true team, and earned every bit of what they got. Now that this is all over with thank god, now they wont win a World Series for another 86 years...whew, i wont live to see another one...LOL....and yes, the Yanks choked, big time, i wont deny it, but Mr Steinbrenner will hopefully make changes to our pitching staff which SUCKS (Kevin Brown needs to retire to the old folks home) and the Yanks will be back in contention next year. Now A Rod needs to stop those childish antics on the field...i mean come on, slapping the ball out of some guys mitt? Grow up!!!!! Anyways, props to the Red Sox, and heres to another frustrating 86 years!!!!! LOL!!!!!

I agree with axe as well. The yanks have turned into an evil empire based on money - kinda like a corporation (shudder). That's not baseball, that's business - which is a bit discerning. I think a good 80% of America wanted the Yanks to lose because of these reasons.
I can understand being a diehard Yanks fan, but the organization has changed so much it's rather repulsive to other baseball fans.

Sadly the Yanks are not the only team "buying" championships, hey the Red Sox had something like the 2nd or 3rd highest payroll in MLB, thats just the nature of the beast now, if you have money you can get the best players......is it fair? is it right? No, absolutely not, but thats the way it is and we cant change it, id love to see alot of the smaller market teams be able to compete, but the way baseball is going, doesnt look like its gonna happen anytime soon.
