Red Ring Of Death. Again. Again and Again.

Just got it for the 3rd time and Microsoft no longer fixes it. Fuccccckin rage.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I think my Xbox days are over. Don't really feel like buying another one and going through all this B.S again. At least until Gears 3 comes out. I'll be hangin out at my brothers a lot next April. :D

i was going to post something......i was going to say something nice....
but FUCK!!! 3 times ....... i have no idea what i would be feeling.
but i think maybe if you love your 360 games i would get one of the newer systems and it should be fine

There are alot of videos on Youtube that show you how to fix it. Pretty easy from what I hear. My friend buys up RED BOXes fixes them and resells them. Something about heatsinks I think. The X Box is pretty much a PC.

I know people who will just buy the cheapest Xbox and pop their old HDD in it and go about merrily. I've so far only had one RROD.

i have a fan on the back of mine it gets nosey while in my room but when i play in the living room on my 50 inch htd tv u cant hear it andmy system never feels hot and i play sometimes 4 to 8 hours at a time

Microsoft no longer fixes it when you get three? Or is it because you've owned it for so long?

I didnt think many people were still getting it these days but I guess I was wrong. Either way they should still be fixing them under that extended warranty plan that they made up to cover all of the cases they had. If they arent going to fix just wait till later this year when the new console comes out and buy that if you still even want one by then

The failure rate right now for the newest architecture is about 4% which is surprisingly better than either two other major systems. The problem is that Microsoft when they were sent the X-boxes to fix often just refurbished them, which only delayed the inevitable again.

i have 2 xbox 360 .

one 360 is void warranty since the warranty is finished ( more than 3 years old ) and the dvd reader is " odd " since works only with some games.

the other one 360 is working and is a brand new arcade that i got
about a month ago. It works good because it is shiny new.

But still if i were you i would consider to get a Ps3 since i heard
Crysis 2 will be better onto ps3.

( sorry for my bad english )

Depends on your definition of a "new system".
If you are thinking along the lines of the next generation, (like the jump from XBOX to the 360), then the answer is no.

There was a statement made that there will be a new XBOX 360 coming out in 2010, which I believe incorporates the Natal technology (though Natal will still be available as a seperate add on peripheral).
Honestly, I'm not really sure if that was a strong rumor or if it was officially confirmed.

Sounds iffy. Seems like Microsoft is trying to pry some more money out of people without truly upgrading their console.

I already have a PS3. It will suffice. When Gears 3 and Fable 3 come out, I'll go buy a used 360 or something.

Yea you are most likely right but since it has been 5 years since the 360 was released it would be nice if Microsoft surprised us

what the fuck you lookin at?
One of my friends had an elite so he wouldn't have to worry about the RROD thing, yet...his still did it. Mine's only done it once and its one that came out just a year after the first run consoles. So I've been pretty damn lucky that way. But I have a PS3 too, so when mine shits again, I'll still be able to game!

LOL "the xbox360 failure rate is now at 4%......." that sounds so funny to me for some reason. Xbox360 is tarnished forever due to its 51% failure rate during 98% of its life cycle here. If Microsoft were to brag about its improved rate, it would be like listening to Hitler try to make an apology.

The 51% you're referring to was in circulation until late 2007, which according to the console's history puts it at about 13-15 million units. Of those that failed, less that 2 million were kept and a new unit send out, instead, Microsoft tried to fix it, which exacerbated the problem. The units from 2007-2008 have about a 10% failure rate, and the new ones since 2008 about 4%. Sure the problem was widespread, but there is something to be said for the rate gradually dropping, although in STDiva's case, anecdotally that really doesn't matter.

Microsoft is full of shit for releasing this system knowing full well what was gonna happen. Thirty-three percent of all Xboxes fail. What a crock!
