Question for the board music snobs.

Is Nickelback still the band that everyone is supposed to hate now? Or has Hinder taken their place?

Are Radiohead and Wilco still the greatest musical geniuses of all time? Or have they been replaced?

Just trying to keep up with the trends.

Thanks in advance.

Hinder isn't well known enough to be unanimously hated like Nickelback.

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I was personally in favor of executing anyone associated with Hinder after Lips of an Angel was released. This offer still stands if anyone wishes to act on it...

Mayhem

Banned
I'm a music snob and I don't hate Nickelback. I do ignore the hell out of Hinder though.

And since this is titled "Music Snobs," here's my question. Does no one believe in a killer guitar solo anymore? Where the fuck have all the lead guitarists gone?

maredsous

You avin' a laugh?
although hinder is fucking horrible i would say that nickleback is still the most hated. they've been radio darlings for over 10 years now. hell there was the whole "can this pickle get more fans than nickleback?" fan page on facebook which still has over 1.5 million fans.

Nickelback and Limp Bizkit have been the 2 most hated bands in the past decade, imo.

Radiohead is still a musical genius band.

I'm gonna get hate for this, but I used to love LB. Of course I was around 12 or 13 at the time so I think I can be forgiven....

As a college-educated music snob I think all of the above is shite. Give me my Ravel and Debussy, my Albéniz and Tárrega, my Bach and my Sanz, and my Lennon and McCartney any day, and we'll be happy. :)

Now THAT my friends, is music snobbery at it's finest .

Not bad, but I prefer modernists to impressionists. Give me Mahler and Schoenberg over Debussy and Ravel.

Austrian > French. Especially for choral music.

No mention of U2 here? surprising.

U2's stock fell after that Vertigo bullshit.

They need to redeem themselves.

It's been awhile so maybe their next album will be Joshua Tree-esque
