I suspect that is either because they are naive when they get in the business and think that it's somehow beneath them or that they can quit after making a few movies and maintain some kind of "clean" image or else they are smart marketers that know how to create supply and demand and wait until they have a bunch of goofs begging "when is she going to do it?" and then a guaranteed sales boost, instead of just doing it right out the (back) door.
