Why am I getting spammed by other porn sites? I thought freeones wouldn't sell my info to other sites. Now I'm getting messages from sites that are using the name I gave for freeones so I know they got it here.

Ive never been spammed by freeones, I dont believe anyone on the board has cause it wouldve came up long before. Are they sending it to the email address you registered with?

I've never been spammed and like DOA82 says, if this was happening on a regular basis it would have come up a long time ago.

That might indeed be the reason as we never send anything other than the regular MyFreeOnes emails.

I'm with everyone else...no one has ever complained about this before. I get spam e-mails from all over the place, even on e-mail addresses that I've never registered to any website. FreeOnes is the least of your worries when it comes to spamming.

It's the vCard in your profile.

To get rid of it, go to your profile then edit options. You should see one of the areas on the page look like the one I posted below:

Uncheck the the box I have highlighted in red to get rid of it so spammers can't find your address.

You can get spam from all sorts of places. If your email program is linked to your web browsers and the wrong cookies get in there or if you have malware on your computer. Even better if a friend gets infected and your address is in their contacts, or if your email address is published on a website for contact information. All sorts of ways.

Email software has gotten rather good at filtering out spam. I get very little. Funny things is, several years ago I was in Las Vegas with some of my friends. While traveling down the strip they have people that pass out printed porn directories for the strip clubs, adult book stores and escorts. Some might call it printed porn spam, because they shove it on you, even if you are a blue haired old lady.

Not me! I went right up to those guys with my hand out yelling, "Put that fucking porn in hands right now! Give me one of each!"
