Interesting, though truly not a great deal I didn't know already from reading about the biz and from chatting to a small number of both active and retired pornstars.
The "three months living expenses" is just good advice for anyone. If you work a normal job and don't know how you'd make ends meet if you suddenly couldn't work due to accidental, sickness or losing your job, have three months wages/salary put away just in case, if you haven't got an income protection policy. You never know when life will kick you in the crotch.
On the STI note, it is amusing how many guys think they're 0% risk of catching anything because they always put a raincoat on it. The looks on their faces when I ask "So, you put your johnny on before she sucks it then?" and explain you can get the clap from receiving an unprotected blow job is priceless.
I also once amusingly chatted with a professional that declared her butt a no-go area - not just anal penetration but a finger, tongue, anything, because "the ass is the gateway to HIV." But she had no problem taking a mouthful of uncovered knob and gulping my potential AIDS-babies down, so it's a pretty good job I wasn't carrying anything. Amazingly shoddy knowledge and/or half-arsed approach to protection. I'd have expected better from someone who makes their living from sex.
