Peyton Manning To Be Released By Colts.

I'm so tired of the comparison to Rodgers. He was the 24th pick in the draft, not the 1st. Rodgers was not ready to be a starting QB in the NFL when he was drafted. He needed time to sit and learn before he was going to be successful. Andrew Luck is one of the best college QB prospects to come around since that Peyton Manning guy was drafted with the first pick in the 1998 draft. Luck is ready to start immediately and deserves the chance to be the franchise player for the Colts. And let's not forget, Peyton started his rookie year in the league. That seems to have worked out pretty well.

And as I've said before, the Colts cannot afford to pay both Peyton and Luck and build a successful team. Peyton is owed 28 million this year, and Luck is going to be paid somewhere around 6 million dollars. You can't afford to have 34 million dollars tied up at the QB position. If you watched the Colts at all last year (I watched every fucking game), then you know they have many holes to fill on offense and defense. An extra 28 million would do a long way in helping to fix some of the problem areas with this team.

It sucks that the Colts have to release Peyton. He's probably my favorite player of all-time, and he's the reason the Colts have been so successful. But he can't play forever, and at some point, you have to move forward with someone else. I'll still watch him, and I'll still root for him. His number will be retired here, and he'll go into the HOF as a Colt. I wish #18 the best of luck.

:(
Aaron Rodgers was projected to go somewhere between the 2nd and 5th pick that year, even first in a few mocks, the Packers lucked out on that pick. Thank you to the gm boneheads who drafted ahead of the Pack for that.

The Jets don't have the cap space, do they? Houston is an arch-rival and has a lock at quarterback more or less. Washington has a good shot. Miami sucks and is a bad fit but they have a good shot as well. Arizona... probably the best shot of the bunch. :2 cents:

I've heard talk KC would be a good fit from a lot of other talking heads....

When they send The Mexican kid packing, Woody will open the Johnson and Johnson checkbook as wide as he needs.

Remember the last once in a lifetime draft choice? How did he turn out? Remember most of those high draft choice QBs taken in the last couple of decades? How did they turn out.

Even when Manning was drafted there were a lot of people wondering if Leaf was better. It's funny they call them "can't miss prospects" because those people end up missing ALL THE FEAKING TIME. One of the greatest players to ever play and maybe the best QB in history come about about once every couple of decades if we are lucky.

It fucking sucks, but it's the right move. Hopefully, the Colts will use the money they save (paying Luck versus Manning) to shore up the offensive line and add a couple starters on defense.

I'll always be a fan of #18. As long he's not playing Indy, I'll be cheering for him.
It's sad to say it but being a Peyton fan you probably, by yourself, drew more Peyton hate's than you ever could have done standing up for a real man... too bad you don't stand up, at least a couple willows would have bent teacher. He doesn't care... he (re) just post posts insessantly...

Not to put a damper on things people, but here you guys sit arguing about who can play a better game while all the roman leaders sit back in washington laughing at us peasents scrounging in the dirt arguing about a game and not fighting back against a corrupt system. We as a society have not changed since roman time 2,000 years ago.

Sorry wanted to put it into perspective

28 million was too much to pay for a maybe at the qb position, I know Peyton is going to be fine for a couple of seasons, but I understand it about rebuilding and business. Luck will turn out fine.
