Agreed. If you take away the fire, and the lights, and the playing with his teeth behind his back and all the psychodelics surrounding his image you're left with an ordinary blues guitarist. Albeit a good blues guitarist, but nothing extraordinary.

yeah I'm sure he was a very good guitarist.......but beyond making cool noises and some catchy riffs he never much impressed me.
He does have some real good songs though.

But when I see mascis rip out guitar solos like that one I posted I'm in awe, and 99% of the population never heard of him.

Overrated - 50 Cent, Gucci Mane (God he is so terrible), every NBA player who puts up good numbers but can't defend worth a lick and is somehow toted as underrated (Kevin Love, David Lee, Al Jefferson), All English footballers (especially John Terry)

Underrated - Trae tha Truth, Big Sean, Derrick Rose's supporting cast which apparently doesn't exist when people argued for Derrick Rose's MVP credentials, Spanish wingers (Cazorla, Mata, Navas, etc)

Witten's an absolute beast and probably the most complete TE in the NFL currently. I agree about Cooley being underrated, though his being injury-prone is rather worrisome, especially for FF players like me who gamble on lesser known names in the later rounds.

For me personally...

Overrated: Troy Polumalu(great in run support, but can be a real liability in pass defense at times)

Underrated: Jim Miller(Clay Guida gets so much love over-active monkey who lays on people once he takes them to the ground, yet Miller's an actual exciting wrestler who'll strike with his opponents and will work his ass off to actually finish the fight)
