Anchorman for moi.

There was an Adam Sandler fiesta on TV here the other night. Happy Gilmore on one channel, Big Daddy on another and Chuck and Larry on PayTV Box Office. Although, Anchorman has some of the best comedy writing i've seen in years. Blades of Glory sucked. As did most of Ferrell's other films where he was cast in a major/leading role. He was hilarious as Mustafa in the Austin Powers series and hinted at his greatness as Mugatu in Zoolander, but Anchorman is pure dynamite. Probably the best comedy in recent times.

I think I will go with old school.. very tough decision though.

Put some good movies on the list.

You know like Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo and the sequel DB: European Gigolo or Norbert?

Where is Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector?

For me a tie betwixt Anchorman and Napoleon Dynamite.

Jim Carrey, the original Cable Guy is much funnier/deserved to be on that list than this Larry copy-cat i've heard about. :D

hey smitty? who is that red headed broad in ur sig? SOrry about the off topic question.

I've tried to be fair with Adam Sandler, but have concluded over time that he's very much overrated. Will Ferrell is probably overrated too, but not as much as Sandler. I loved Ferrell in Zoolander (which is a very funny film - why not have it as a choice here?) and thought he was pretty damn funny in Old School.

I gotta check out Anchorman, I guess.

If you care about comedy, you should see Strange Brew with the McKenzie Bros.
Holds up quite well to repeated viewings...

Sandler is not overrated. He is a talented comedian. He is just unfortunate to be under the spell of poor writers and/or directors half the time. Much like Ferrell in some recent works. Both outstanding comedians, as their stints on Saturday Night Live will testify but unfortunately they are the ones who take the bad wrap if a film does badly. Few writers/directors can bring out the absolute best in an actor.

Happy Gilmore

It is Sandler's finest movie todate. I dont ever see him beating it or even coming close to being as good.

persona non grata
I liked Anchorman. I have only seen Happy Gilmore of the other ones and i absolutely hated that, just as i hated every Adam Sandler movie i have seen (except The Wedding Singer).
