I don't think it's the exact opposite.
The difference is: in hockey the line is printed on the ice - in soccer it is a virtual line on which a player eventually is positioned at the very moment.

Im just not crossing the line without the puck or passing it if someone is across the blue line , it seems to be working for me now

I just went the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings & won 6-3 is that a decent result?

Also who are the best players , Im thinking of doing a season but I dont really know whose good and whose rubbish , who should I try & sign?

If you're talking about, like, NHL 09 or 10, then it doesn't really matter who you sign. In the hands of a good player, even the Columbus Blue Jackets can be champions! :glugglug:

I miss watching NHL. Last year we had the american sports channel, an affiliate of ESPN, on our digital cable package.

That's weird. ESPN doesn't even show NHL in North America!

Any win is a decent result. Hockey scores vary greatly depending upon how the two teams approach the game. If both are holding one forward back to guard against a breakout and both teams have solid defensemen and goaltenders, a 1-0 score is not uncommon. On the other hand, if both teams are in full attack mode without much regard for backchecking or guarding their bluelines, I have seen 8-7 games on many occasions.

As far as good players, here is a great resource. Any of these guys would be good to have on your team. Have fun! Hockey is a great sport.
