Could someone please enlighten me to the offside rule in this game?

Thanks

An offensive player cannot precede the puck across the blue line to enter the attacking zone.

Make sense?

HELLO!?

.... and in other European countries. ;)

Too bad the Olympic Hockeygames are mostly played at night, European Timezone. I've got a job to do, you know, and have to be economical with my holidays. :(

I don't think it's the exact opposite.
The difference is: in hockey the line is printed on the ice - in soccer it is a virtual line on which a player eventually is positioned at the very moment.

Puck enters the offensive zone before any offensive players.

P.S. Points to you for actually calling it offside (correct) and not offsides (incorrect).

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
if the puck comes out, all the players have to come out before the puck goes back in...not gonna bother with the delayed offside that can be called

I miss watching NHL. Last year we had the american sports channel, an affiliate of ESPN, on our digital cable package. Then, right before the end of the playoffs, they decided to take it out of the general package and put it in a rather expensive package of 10 football channels (who the hell needs that many flippin football channels anyways? Oh, that's soccer for Americans ;-P). Now they canceled it all together due to the "lack of interest" in the channel.

Idiots.

Going through withdrawls!!

A player can cross the offensive blue line before the puck if he´s got the puck under control.

Yes there are some technicalities that apply to the basic rule. Is it not also true that a player can actually precede the puck across the blue line as long as he does not play nor touch the puck? Can he not also skate back outside the blue line and then re-enter the zone and go ahead and play the puck? A player can also straddle the blue line and not be offside....both skates need to be fully across the line in order for him to whistled offside, yes?

I believe all these are correct. Any hockey refs here?

Im just not crossing the line without the puck or passing it if someone is across the blue line , it seems to be working for me now

I just went the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings & won 6-3 is that a decent result?

Also who are the best players , Im thinking of doing a season but I dont really know whose good and whose rubbish , who should I try & sign?

Any win is a decent result. Hockey scores vary greatly depending upon how the two teams approach the game. If both are holding one forward back to guard against a breakout and both teams have solid defensemen and goaltenders, a 1-0 score is not uncommon. On the other hand, if both teams are in full attack mode without much regard for backchecking or guarding their bluelines, I have seen 8-7 games on many occasions.

As far as good players, here is a great resource. Any of these guys would be good to have on your team. Have fun! Hockey is a great sport.
