Seemed to handle it pretty well from my perspective...he didn't get irate, he remained cordial and allowed them nearly 4:00 minutes of air time.
They object to the process...well honestly, Obama gives everyone in the country and opportunity to send in their questions to his WH. According to him, he personally reads 10 of them a day...and it's pretty irresponsible to think these people won't be prescreened heavily based on the nature of threat against this particular POTUS.
But BEYOND ALL THAT, I thought this was supposed to be a liberal media love affair with Obama!!

I'm still not seeing the major problem for Gibbs you see...but hey, to each his own.
He gave them more than enough opportunities to make their case and he answered them according to the knowledge he had and they didn't stump him on anything.
How can you criticized a questioning process before you even know what the questions are?? And ANY "town hall" setting is bound to have some limitations with respect to participation. A nothing issue IMO.

Because of the way "The O" has no transparency, these questions cannot be addressed, they are screened out. O might as well be pushing democracy ideals on Iraq while standing in Iran filtering what the public sees and hears.

No has been able to ask O how govt funded health care like Canada will maintain America's level of medical care and why the rest of teh world comes here to get good health care?
No one has been able to ask O why he promissed no taxes on the middle class and he applied new taxes to tobacco shortly after taking office and is pushing taxing health benifits, pushing taxing energy, pushing taxing gasoline?
No one has been able to ask O what he plans on doing with the detainees at Gitmo?
The point of the post is to show that the O administration only will allow (screen) questions that show a positive light on him and not address the problems like you state above.

It creates jobs because we tax the bad energy that destroys the nation (oil, coal, etc.) while we build stuff that cleans the nation--wind farms, solar stuff, etc.
America's present level of healthcare isn't something to brag about actually. We're beyond middle of the pack in successful patient outcomes while we lead the globe in costs. That's not a very efficient or effective healthcare system. The only people that come here are rich Euros who have money to burn. For every 1 rich Euro who goes to New York City or LA for treatment, 100 Americans go to Mexico for treatment.:dunno:
Smoking doesn't affect the middle class or the Rich. Smoking is a habit of the lower middle class and the working poor. Taxing gas doesn't affect the Rich either. They can fill up their SUVs when gas is $1 or $5/gallon. We should double the Federal gas tax immediately, actually. I think a gov't health insurance plan is a nice first step, but the best healthcare system for America is Single Payer. Obama, sadly, isn't going that far. We should just make Medicare the Nationalized Healthcare plan.
Obama has fucked this up. No argument from me. We should transfer the detainees we think we have enough evidence for trials to Federal Prisons. And for the detainees who are innocent or who we have no actual evidence for anything--we should release them in Crawford, Texas.:thumbsup:

The answer is none because it's not their job..the US Congress crafts, passes and appropriates the funding for all bills.

That also does not take into account the mining of Boxite, the processing of aluminum, transportation emissions so forth just to make the windmills, much less the toxic components left over from making solar cells. All the while the energy tax will put millions out of work the are producing the other 90% of our energy.
It is not just rich Euro's coming for our health care, it is Canadians, Saudies and for every 100 Americans going to Mexico, there is 1000 Mexicans coming to America to take part in our standard of living including our health care. It is the way we live (bad eating habits, no exercise, tabocco use) that causes our health care system to be so expensive. Attack those problems first.

You are correct that the congress crafts and votes into a bill the funding for the US.
It is a fact of record that O has pushed his ideals and the congress followed suit on spending and writting exactly what he wanted in the bills that he signs into law.
So why shouldn't he answer for what he is pushing and the congress wrote for him and he signed it into law? Don't forget the executive decissions he signed the second day in office, by himself. Why shouldn't he answer questions pertaining to those?
Again slower, the POTUS sets priorities...the congress does the nuts and bolts of the legislation. This is commonly referred to as such concepts as "separation of powers", "checks and balances", etc.
I don't know if I buy that reasoning. By that way of thinking the president doesn't construct anything pertaining to the law other than signing bills he agrees with other than some occasional executive orders, which we all know it's really the case. Presidents for a long time have had a lot of say in the creating and forming of legislation even if they aren't the ones that directly do it, just from their influence alone. The president isn't keeping the fact that he can't directly form any legislation on our nation's health care issues from having him speak about it or what he wants to have done for example. I also think the president should know more or less the fine details of what he wants to put through as law, considering the high level of his elected position, and be able to explain them to the American people outside of there being some very good reason why he shouldn't (like explaining in fine detail a future military operation because of national security).
