The ladies of 2008 are having TASER parties. Thats right the same little 'protective' device being used by the police and causing such controversy. Apparently being sold out in the open.

They are legal in every state but New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, Wisconsin, Hawaii, and Washington, D.C.

How do you feel about it?

Tasers?! That's not...healthy.

sometimes things are mistaken and things turn bad,i think tasers could be one of these items that can go wrong.but i also feel self defense and safety is important for everyone.but still tasers might just not be the right item to have mass sales of.

Having been hit with civilian and military versions... I have two thoughts on the matter.

First.. civvies have to understand their version isnt going to just shoot out little barbs and supply the law-enforcement-voltage to take them down INSTANTLY like the videos show. Also, if they ACTUALLY use it once or twice, (or a dozen times at these parties..lolol) consider the battery drained enough to just make someone tickle or feel painfully numb whereever it hits. Teach them to use it preferably on skin.. as few layers of clothing between you and the target. The back of the neck works if you can hold it there.. lmao

Secondly..it's for close quarters usage. If they really want to walk up to an intruder and hold it to center mass for 10 seconds.. please oh friggin please teach them to do so under the advice that in whatever time between seeing your assailant and tasering them enough to ************ could mean a gunshot wound or a stabbing.

I think it's just another way to sell product. More **** the average person doesnt need. Home security? Not really.

Is somewhere outhere.
Tasers just get you into a worst world of ****.

A good kick in the balls is what the girls need to do,or even the palm on the chin and the 2 forefingers in the eyes ;)

We don't need to have this debate because, in general, American society is too stupid, ***** or "mentally fucked up" to have such ease to mass ****** mechanisms. TASER killings are generally contained in the urban areas of America..but it will only increase 1000% everywhere if people decide to arm themselves 24/7. Someone cuts you off in traffic--TASE! Someone grabs the last banana at the grocery store--TASE! Someone makes a pass in a bar at your girl...TASE! Some casino takes your money...TASE!

Does the private citizen need a TASER? When do citizens realize the weapons are too powerful to be useful today?

Hopefully our politicians will **** up and realize the Constitution, on this issue and a few others, is a woefully out-of-date document and needs "modernizing" immediately...

scary!
disagree.
i do think that in most cases, the taser is not the best alternative, especially metallic hot pick with flames and racing stripes. if upper body strength is lacking, what about good old pepper spray?

I don't think anything in the story I posted should have prompted such a all out flame of America. I myself am terribly offended. It was a 'sign of the times' type story. Not an opening for another ****** on America or Americans. Far to much of this goes on here in my opinion.

I for one think allowing them is a big mistake. My first reaction was what were they thinking. What do I know though? Since I'm obviously"too stupid, ***** or mentally fucked up" to know anything.

lol, that was a modified quote from another board member. i replaced the word "***" with "taser", and the word "bang!" with "tase!"

pure facetiousness from yer mean old uncle negator. i do apologize if'n i upset anyones sensibilities.:hatsoff:

although, i do think there are better alternatives to tasers in all situations.

this has been going on for a long time. nothing really new here. what worries me is that everyone seems to be looking for some sort of self defense that can inflict the most pain. a type of "one-ups manship" if you will. then this mentallity trickles down to our youth and we have **** shooting **** because they were "disrespected" or bullied. the days of the fist-fight or going to the proper authoritative figure are LONG gone.

yes, I see these things as being more harmful. That's why we have guns. if someone is threatening you in such a way that you feel you're safety is in dire jeopardy, then shoot them. this is perfectly legal, it's the self-defense clause.

but all these new(ish) devices are intended to ************ someone that is not worth shooting, in other words in a scenario where you don't feel that you're safety is in sufficient jeopardy to use (necessary) disabling *****.

How is that even legal? If it's not self defense, then it's just assault. there isn't really a gray area.

I'll repeat again, if the situation doesn't warrant using a *** against an ******, then there is not grounds to use disabling *****.

especially in regards to ***************, they often use these tools as pain compliance: "if you don't cooperate, we are going to hurt you." that is not the job of a police officer, to ****** a suspect that is not attacking them.

I think they should buy guns instead. Screw tasers. Lets arm the women and see who fucks with them after that. Won't be ol' gravorre, know what I'm sayin?

You didn't offend me. Hell I work with the American public, the majority of them are way too stupid to have the responsibility of a potentially lethal weapon.

They do, it's assault.

But...try telling that to the government. They don't care.

It's not their job to hurt the public. It's their job to protect and serve. Seems they forgot that part along time ago.

They seem to use "taser" and "stun ***" intercangably. I always thought, besides just the company name, that taser had become knows as the one that shot electrical nodes and the stung *** was hand held and had to be places on the other person. It's irocit because you would think it would be the other way around with the names.

Having been hit with both a stun *** and a taser (*************** types) for a demonstration, I can say that neither are truly ************** TO ME. The effect does vary based on body weight, muscle mass, and hydration. Fucking *************** grade pepper spray is a downer, though, and it still burns somewhat the next day. Dreadful stuff, but also dangerous for some to even carry.
