Not so easy prey for Sarah Palin as she kills a caribou on her TV show (but misses target five times)
Proudly smiling for the camera, Sarah Palin shows off the caribou she killed with a telescopic rifle on her TV reality show.
The former governor of Alaska missed the proud beast five times before shooting it down and is shown later skinning it.
Several animal rights groups have protested - and even her nine-year-old daughter Piper was not impressed.

Fearing a backlash, Mrs Palin bragged about the kill on Facebook and Twitter before her show, Sarah Palin's Alaska, was even transmitted.
She wrote: 'Tonight's hunting episode 'controversial'? Really? Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode.
'I remain proudly intolerant of anti-hunting hypocrisy'.
And later she told TV viewers: 'In remote areas of Alaska there's no grocery store nearby. It's four or five hundred miles away.'
But animal rights groups condemned the killing. Dan Matthews, vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said: 'Sarah seems to think that resorting to violence and blood and guts may lure people into watching her boring show.
'But the ratings remain as dead as the poor animals she shoots.'

Wearing camouflage gear, Mrs Palin was in a remote part of state with her father Chuck Heath when she spotted the caribou.
After missing five times she tried a different rifle and finally downed the animal. After the shooting Mrs Palin said:' I feel a lot better now.
'When you're shooting everything seems to be happening very quickly. Then when you see you have a successful hit it's a great feeling of accomplishment.'
Experienced hunters thought she looked like an 'amateur' with the rifle. Their website complaints included:
* 'She's got a 'varmint rifle,' despite the overwhelming evidence that caribou are not 'varmint.'
* 'It takes her four or five shots to hit the caribou. And caribou are big!'
* She doesn't bring her own weapon, and has someone else carry and load it.
* 'Her dad, theoretically a veteran hunter, uses his gun as a walking stick, which even I can tell you is a terrible idea.'
* 'After being given her rifle, she immediately puts her finger on the trigger, violating the first lesson any responsible hunter ever learns: Don't touch the trigger till you're ready to shoot.'
* 'She asks about the rifle, 'Does it kick?' which is (apparently) a silly, inconsequential question.'
Mrs Palin and her father were shown skinning and preparing the animal at her home in Wasilla. But all daughter Piper said was: 'That's a tiny caribou.'
On a previous hunting trip, Mrs Palin reduced to tears celebrity single mother-of-eight, Kate Gosselin. At one point, Kate sobs as she complains: 'I'm chilled to the bone.'
In another scene, she jumps and pulls a face as she watches the 46 year-old shooting a rifle. Mrs Palin is heard cajoling her with the words: 'Come on! It wasn't that bad!'
