Nicotine Patches

I used the patch to quit and it worked. When things got really bad I would roll up some tea and smoke it. That way I was still smoking, and getting nicotine in my system at the same time - exactly the same as if I had smoked a cigarette. It really helped me over the rough patches which lasted about two weeks.

Yeah, I'm hitting about two weeks right now, and it's getting easier. F-n rough at first, but easier every day.

Did you finally succeed? How long have you quit? I last about 4 or 5 months and return.

Well I started on the patch October 2007. The first 3 days were pretty stressful, then it got easier and easier from there. I started smoking a (ONE) cigarette while drunk (drinking on a once a weekend basis) about a month after I was done using the patch according the steps. Just because I wanted to, not because I craved it. I did this for a couple months then just gave up completely, so it's been about 8 months since I've even smoked a cigarette, and I have had very few cravings, and the cravings have been in very short bursts when I'm under alot of pressure, and last very momentarily. It hasn't been too bad, and being so much healthier is worth the price of a slight craving every once in a while. I wish you the best in your endeavors to quit my friend, it's really easy when you want to succeed
