SHIT

Tampa Bay Lightning owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie can't seem to get along, and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is saddled with settling the dissension.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the Lightning leadership, owners of OK Hockey, will meet with Bettman today to determine which one will have the authority to control all franchise decisions.

There have been rumors of a rift between Koules and Barrie for months — differences of opinion on payroll, Vincent Lecavalier and GM Brian Lawton, the newspaper reports.

Koules, a movie and television producer, and his partners with OK Hockey purchased the Lightning from Palace Sports and Entertainment in February 2008.

Has there been any news on Robert Lang? Just wondering if he will be in the NHL next season.

Any Bolts fans want to let us know whats going on in Tampa lately?

Has there been any news on Robert Lang? Just wondering if he will be in the NHL next season.

The latest news we got about his recovery in Montreal was that he could have been able to play in Conference finals if the Habs had made it.

He havent spoken about his near future (if he was going back to play in Europe, interrested to re-sign with the Habs or using his UFA status to choose a new *home*).

Personnally, i think he will be back in the NHL next season. He really enjoyed his experience in Montreal, he was highly appreciated in the dressing room, and he was our first scorer untill he got his injury... So i'm kinda expecting Bob Gainey to do what he have to do to get him back on a 1 year contract for next season with the Habs. We have a lack on our depth chart at the center position and we will probably loose Koivu on the UFA market so Lang might play a very important role for us if he decides to stay in Montreal.

i didn't know Oren was the reason behind the rumors of Lecavalier's trade. fuck him, i change my vote to Len Barrie.

Some rumors are that Montreal Habs will acquire Lecavalier this weekend, against draft choices and players while the draft will be held in Montreal...

I personnally don't buy that rumor: it seems too much based on the Tanguay move last summer to be true.

Regardless, we are hearing about Lecavalier in Montreal since so many months now that i just no longer beleive it will be done.

Moreover, i respect and like the Lightnings and i would fear the imminent death of the franchise if Lecavalier is traded.

if this kind of behind the scenes crap continues, we may be doomed anyway:mad:

Yeah. It's about time something is done to clear out the whole mess in TB. I really hope that Bettman will solve the different which will allow the real owner to build on.

It's been such a crazy and deceptive year in TB, eh? :(

it really has been one big mess since we won the Cup in 2004. things just seem to get worse and worse for one reason or another.

if that story is true, Len Barrie is the man to control the team. we don't need to trade our franchise player. no good could come from that. we'd have to raise another franchise player and that would take longer. we're on the cusp of turning the corner with what we've got and will be getting but it looks like Oren Koules wants to head in the other direction! WTF?!

This is a big surprise to me , I never would have thought that Koules would be the moron who wants to trade Lecavalier. Therefore it's Len Barrie all the way for me , he's a former player and he knows the importance of a franchise player like Vincent Lecavalier. I can't believe that a businessman like Koules can't unterstand that trading away Lecavalier even if he gets a good return , could mean the death of the franchise. At least wait untill Stamkos becomes a big star in the league and then it's possible to move Vinny. Still I think Vinny gave enough to the team to deserve playing his entire carreer in Tampa if that's what he wants the most.

i'm just in shock here. i had no idea things were that bad and that Oren could be near doing such a horrid job with the team

that would be a logical conclusion to come to...

Gary Bettman, PLEASE make the right decision! i'm down on my knees begging you, PLEASE!

I'm going to join you for the begging , please Gary save the Tampa Bay Lightning ! This team needs to have a face to represent it and that's Vincent Lecavalier , he must stay in Tampa ! ( and I don't want to have to take him out of my sig )

that lockout in '05 was the turning point in our downfall. we need this to be our turning point in our return to glory.

i recently watched the replay of the game 7 Cup Finals from 2004. MAN what a team that was.

I taped the entire game that night and I have a full 6 hours of the game + all that happened in the days after that like the award show and sports bulletins as well as an appearance by Boyle , Pratt and Grahamme on Leno , it's a very nice memorabilia.
