You should also come to Bristol and/or Charlotte later this year.

BTW, who will you be cheering for, Leona?

I'm more of an open wheel/formula car fan, so I usually pull for the former F1, CART and Champ Car guys. I met Montoya when he was racing in CART. Not the friendliest guy, but he had/has loads of talent. I'm surprised that he hasn't won an oval race by now. I know he's come close. But it seems like he should have sealed the deal by now. Another guy I like is A.J. Allmendinger.

I missed the K.C. race on TV. But was it a good one? Funny how after a couple of down years, Stewart seems to have really come alive again.

Sorry, not while JPM drives for Cheep Ganassi! Don't know what it is about EGR, (money, technical talent, or T Earnhardt;) but something is missing to keep them from being a premier team.

Did anyone watch the end of the Sprint Cup race from Richmond last night? Dale, Jr. has had a long dry spell. But last night, I was impressed with how he was trying to run down Kyle Busch. He was literally sideways coming out of the turns! He eventually blew his brakes out, he was pushing so hard. It's doubtful that he could have caught and passed Busch, but that was one hell of a try... one of the best I've seen in awhile. I don't keep up with NASCAR nearly as much as F1. But if I'm not mistaken, Junior is hovering in the Top 5 in points? Good year for him so far...

And here's something about NASCAR that pretty much turned me off to the IRL (now IndyCar) series when Danica was there. She's now in her second season of Nationwide (the first full time - but no longer classified as a rookie). I believe she's pretty much been to all of the tracks at least once. But Travis Pastrana has never raced a Nationwide series car before. Just like when she was in the IRL, the ESPN NASCAR announcers heap praise on Danica if she manages not to run over her pit crew when she comes in for fuel and tires. They dream up every excuse in the world to explain her lackluster performances in her second season in the series. But Pastrana, here's how Yahoo Sports described his DEBUT performance:

Pastrana's debut gets upstaged

X Games star Travis Pastrana finally made his Nationwide Series debut last night, finishing a rather quiet 22nd; he made quite an impression with some fans after the race, though, as ESPN2 showed him going to the grandstands, signing autographs and taking pictures.

The thing is, his "quiet 22nd" was one spot behind Danica in 21st - both 2 laps down. And Danica, in a VERY well financed car, finished behind Johanna Long (another girl and a rookie) and Cole Whitt (another rookie and Danica's teammate). Danica just gets on my nerves because she was insisting just a couple of years ago that she didn't need to race in Nationwide. She was so good, she was ready to jump straight into Sprint Cup (or F1... she hadn't made up her mind yet ). And now, hell, she does well most races to finish 1 lap down in Nationwide... behind her rookie teammate. 30 years old and one professional level win in a career, and just because she's willing to model in a bikini, the braindead ESPN announcers continue making believe that she's the real deal? :brick:

OK. I feel better. That's my Danica rant for this racing season (probably not).
