NAACP wants NY Post editor and cartoonist fired

You can't always anticipate how extreme and how far the lunatic fringe will go...it was a classic political cartoon...and I got it right away.
Only a racist-thinking moron would read a racist message into an obvious political statement...but there you are.
Those of you who see monkeys representing Black people share a POV with the KKK and Rev. Al...not anyone in the mainstream. Which is why the Post ran a good timely editorial cartoon. Who knew Rev. Al needed a paycheck?
And it goes on and on...race is a big theme of the O-Zombies, and they never let it go.

The problem is that not everyone got it right away. Some people might not have heard of the chimp story... but not being able to see why that might offend people, makes you pretty naive. It's doesn't take a racist-thinking person to see that, just someone with a brain. Any person can draw a picture that looks so clear, then tie in a back-story and say, "This is what I really meant". Bullshit! The message was pretty obvious, but it's free speech. He shouldn't lose his job over it.

If the message was "so obvious", then this wouldn't be debated or so controversial. Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective. :dunno:

Would it surprise you that none of these are white monkeys? Did you follow your own advice this time? There's a photo of a "white" Uakari monkey, through a Google search, but it appears to be a genetic mutation. The "norm" is red.

Anyone not aware of the days long continuous news stories and overdone playing of the 911 call wasn't gonna run into the cartoon by accident.
The person unaware of the chimp story would be wrong assuming it was a racist cartoon, and upon learning of the story referred to in the cartoon, it should then supposedly cause them to say,"Oh, I get it now".
There is an agenda behind every instance of outrage Rev. Al and the NAACP come up with, and that's why there is such a contrived furor over the cartoon.
Repeating over and over that there is an obvious racist intent is disingenuous, and won't make it so.
No one mainstream in this day and age is putting out racist cartoons, and that is so gullible to think there was any remote intent to do so.
In Mein Kampf Hitler puts forth the theory that, if you tell a lie big enough, people will assume at least some of it is true.
And that is still working today, people are so easily manipulated.

All I'm trying to say is that I think it's funny that we're suppose believe that theres no racial connection at all. I really don't care what message the cartoonist was trying to make, just don't try to take America as a bunch of fools.

Who knows, maybe his drivers license says "born yesterday", and had no clue blacks were once degraded by being compaired to monkeys, chimps, apes, etc... and didn't know our president is black. He had no clue and was just ignorant.

I agree that NAACP is wrong trying to get this man fired. As a black man, I thought the cartoon was funny, because I got it! I can take a black joke!
