I don't consider myself an avid TV viewer; most of my time is spent on the computer, playing instruments, and hanging out with friends. Though when I do find time to watch TV it's usually stations such as Comedy, ******, Food, A&E, and MTV. I find some of the programs on MTV quite entertaining, even if the majority are scripted (Next, Room Raiders, Cribs, etc.). Although I have a friend who completely despises MTV as a whole. I once asked him why, and he just shook his head and said, "They're pathetic conformists". I didn't really understand what he meant because I have no knowledge of MTV's history. I know he's not the only person out there who doesn't like MTV, so could someone please explain to me why MTV receives so much ****?
