MP3 start-up disks- transferable or not?

Hi

I want to know if it's possible to use the start-up disk for a 'Acoustic Solutions' FM6611 mp3 player, to download music to the above player on more than one computer?

I bought this mp3 player for my girlfriend but her PC is broken, can I load it to mine, then also to hers at a later date? And will it affect my own Sony Sonicstage mp3 settings on my PC if I do this?
