Sometimes there are bad translations and other mistakes when you are going into other markets. Here are a few interesting blunders...
A Swedish real estate company, Locum, made a huge mistake running Premium Link Upgrade during the Christmas holidays a few years ago...
A Swedish contractor, Åke Larsson Byggare (Ake Larsson Builders) with a beaver as a logo were going to Toronto (I think), so they run an ad in the local paper and very large banners all over town "The Swedish beaver is coming to town"
Or the large vacuum cleaner manufacturer, Electrolux "Nothing sucks like Electrolux"
But not only us Swedes do mistakes. Honda (Accura in the US) tried to sell a car called Honda Fitta in Sweden (small on the outside - larger than you think inside). Honda Fitta would be like calling the car "Accura Cunt" in the US.
