*** Miss FreeOnes 2014 Open Beta Test ***

Hello everyone! If you've visited the http://miss.freeones.com site today, you might notice a big red bar across the top. Currently we're in the middle of a closed beta test to see how everything is working on the live environment. So please don't be concerned, we're not running the contest without you!

Now, tomorrow is a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY! For the next 3 days (Wednesday August 13 to Friday the 15th) we'll be running an open beta and everyone is invited to come on over to the site and test the voting! If everything goes as planned, the rounds will be as follows:

- Wednesday = Round 1

- Thursday = Round 2

- Friday = Round 3

Everything will work just like it was the real contest from the number of votes you get per day, vote weight, to eliminations (sorry ladies, no prizes if you win the day's round!). PLEASE be aware that since this is a test, the contest itself, individual rounds, the voting, etc and so on could be reset several times. Don't be alarmed, don't get upset. We just want to make sure all systems are go for September 1st!

At the end of testing on Friday, ALL VOTES WILL BE WIPED. Nothing will carry over from beta testing to the real contest starting on September 1st!

So! Please have fun and report any issues you have here! Below I've once again listed out how voting works so that you can check if it's working as intended or if there's an issue.

Vote breakdown by round

- 20 votes for round 1
- 10 votes for round 2
- 7 votes for round 3


What happens when you spend all your votes?

When you vote for a model successfully, you'll see a big green check box where you currently see the categories in the screen shot above. If you refresh the page, the categories will be greyed. Once you exhaust all of your votes for the day, a timer will replace the voting buttons showing you the time until your votes are refreshed!


When do your votes get refreshed?

At midnight EST.


What about the Best OCSM category?

As with previous years, only logged in FreeOnes members can vote. What's more, this year if an anonymous voter is on a babe section of an OCSM, they won't even see she's entered in that category unless he/she logs in! So random people coming across the babe sections of an OCSM is less likely to participate in this category.


Will votes be reset every round or accumulate?

To keep it fair, it'll be reset every round and every contestant will start at 0 votes at the beginning of the round.

Unfortunately, there's no public way to see if your voting power is working other than a whole bunch of you getting together and voting for the same model. However, I can confirm all is A-OK on the voting weight front. ;-)

So yeah, there appear to be 2 "Best Newcomer" headings. It's weird because it didn't used to be like that. Somewhere along the line it changed.

I had tried it out earlier in the day and have finished trying it out again just now to make sure it wasn't just some rendering glitch by my browser or something along those lines, but nope. I've reproduced it 3 times. So the double "Best Newcomer" headings ARE there as far as I can tell.

I've found a few ladies that can't be voted for, instead it just says "Hold tight because we’re calculating the votes to see which lucky ladies made it into the next round!" and then has a countdown. I noticed it with Briana Lee, but then started randomly checking other ladies who were on the main page and found Miss Hybrid, Maggie Green, Kaylee Rayne, Madison Ivy, and August Ames have the same message and countdown.


Also the time left before I can vote again is just a black square.

I simply come onto this thread and click on that miss.freeone.com link and when the page comes up, there it is ... double Best Newcomer headings. It did it again this morning. So that's 4 times.

Here is a screen cap of what I am seeing on my end:

A bit later I'll clear out the Private Data & Cache from my Opera Browser and see what happens. It's possible that it really only happened once ... and now the subsequent displays of that page are being rendered from the cache data.

I had the same problem when I clicked on Lolita Borgia's thumbnail. In her profile area there weren't any contest categories to select. After voting for a few other ladies I tried her thumbnail again and the problem was resolve the second time around.

I also had a black square for "Time left before you can vote again:".

What you're experiencing is some unforseen cache issues. In a nutshell, there are several layers information has to go through on FreeOnes. There are many reasons why we do it, which I won't bore you with, but what it means is when a change is made to a page people will start seeing it at different times.

Clearly, this is no good for Miss FreeOnes for obvious reasons. Clearly, this is also why we're beta testing. ;-)

The devs are working on a solution so everyone sees everything at the same time on launch day. More than likely we'll be holding another 3 day test next week to make sure all the changes work smoothly.

Thanks for letting us know. The ones I mentioned earlier all seem to be working now. Still getting the black box, though sometimes it's also showing up like I haven't voted for a girl and can still vote for her, but then when I try to again, it gives me an error that I have already voted for her. That may just be some more of the same cache issue, but I figure you should still know it's happening.
