Strong Is Beautiful: Mia Sands
Let's be honest, I didn't plan on becoming a spokesperson about empowerment and confidence. I, myself, have my own deep seeded issues with confidence and being happy with who I am. Just like all of you, I see these beautiful women of all shapes and sizes and I can't help but appreciate their confidence. I'm so happy that I can share that with you. I had the opportunity, to sit down with the lovely Mia Sands and talk a little bit
about where her confidence comes from.
Mia, tell me a little bit about yourself:
I'm Mia Sand, I live in Copenhagen the capital of Denmark. I'm 28 years old and mother to a lovely 7-year-old kid named Sean. I Started lifting 2.5 year's ago, simply because I needed to do something to my body. I had gained some weight and wasn't happy with the way I looked, so started at my local gym and started to love lifting weights.
You post pictures of your beautiful voluptuous body, how did you get to the place where you learned to love your curves?
I've always been a tall girl with curves, but I had trouble accepting my size. It's hard to be the big girl when the people you are around are small! I stopped looking at what the scale told me, and started to look at myself in the mirror. Instead of focusing on my weight, I started focusing on how I would like my current body to look like. I started working with an experienced trainer, who taught me that to sculpt your muscles, you need to lift heavy. He taught that I needed to go all in, on everything I did. There are no shortcuts or easy ways out if you want changes. That's just one thing you have to realize, it's not easy to realize and understand, but when you do, everything is possible. It's a mind game.

What advice would you give to young girls?
Lift and love - Be aware of who you are and what you want to do with your body. If you want to look a certain way, take the initiative to make those changes. No one else but you can do it. Again, it's a mind game, accept that you cannot be tiny or slim, but you can create one hell of a figure with hard work and those curves.

You're not just a women who lifts, you're also a mom. What advice would give to mom's?
Moms are sexy! We are strong! Go show it. Be a woman and kick ass. Don't settle just being a mom, do something for you and your body. Your soul and your children will thank you for it.
She makes it sound so easy! But what I learned from her is that even if your not the "norm" or sample sized you are still beautiful. And as women, we should be proud of that. If you want to change the way you look, do it for yourself and no one else.
