Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Seasons Greetings/Happy Festivus

I'm a bit surprised this topic hasn't been brought up yet...maybe it's not that big a deal this year...but I know it sure was last year this time.

Me...I say Merry Christmas. And when I'm out shopping for Christmas gifts, I like to have the person behind the counter say it too.

Let's not be naive. The very reason that malls are packed this time of year, and have been packed this time of year ever since malls came into existence, is because people are out buying CHRISTMAS PRESENTS...gifts to put under CHRISTMAS TREES...to be opened on December 25...CHRISTMAS DAY.

The whole reason many retailers count on this time of year to put them in the black and to make a profit is because of Christmas.

I don't know of many (any) retailers that close out the year and say to themselves, "Wow...we had an awesome year thanks to our Kwanzaa sales!"

Or the reverse...

"Our numbers were really low this year because our Hanukkah sales were down from last year."

Now I'm going to sit back and let y'all debate this...if anyone cares to.

Merry Christmas! :)
