Yes, it really, really is. I came across a news story just a couple of weeks ago about how some relatively generic (I thought) ads were banned for violating some nanny state law concerning gender stereotyping. Here's one story I just found about this utterly ridiculous law.
First ads banned for contravening UK gender stereotyping rules
I expect California to be the first state in the U.S. to follow the lead of their nanny state comrades in Europe. There's already a feminazi organization that is giving its "Gender Balanced Production" seal of approval to Hollywood movies. I'm not talking about art house or indie projects here. I mean major Hollyweird movies. Look for the symbol at the end of the next movie that you go to (waste your money on). And the SJWs in California state govt. have already followed Europe's lead by passing a (possibly unconstitutional) law which mandates that companies must meet certain gender quotas when it comes to females on corporate boards (even though it's shareholders who decide who serves on the board):
New California Law Imposing Gender Diversity on Boards of Publicly Held Corporations Raises Constitutional Concerns. But in this time of snowflakes and SJWs, that's not something that these people can understand or respect.
The state will decide.
The state will make it right.
The state will socially engineer, and even ignore the Constitution, in order to get the results that
it wants. The state... The state... By any means necessary...
