Which brand do you find better? In terms of the films, the comics, the superheroes, in general etc?

I am quite neutral, neither pro Marvel or DC. I love superhero films and even though i won't say i been a hardcore collector of the comics, i do think the movies of Marvel are far better than what DC makes. I think maybe alot of that is to do with Marvel having their own studio, whereas DC have to rely on Warner Bros and other production studios.

opinions?

Marvel. I love both, but Marvel have my two favourite comics and ensemble of characters ever, Transformers and X-Men so it isn't really that close in terms of preference.

I used to like both when I was a kid and didn't know the difference. However, once I got a little older and understood the difference, I drifted towards Marvel pretty fast and have stayed with them ever since. Other than the occasional Marvel/DC crossover, the only DC comics I've bought since the 80's have been Lobo. I have a few dozen Lobos and about 10,000 Marvels.

not a an of transformers but love xmen
yeah transformers sucks! robot with feelings and souls really? lol

i like both marvel got spiderman, x-men, hulk, thor, captain america
dc got batman, catwoman (loved Halle Berry in the movie grrr) also superman

ps when i said like it i talk about 'movies' never read comics book

I don't really even know which super heroes belongs to which brand and I don't think I've read any of those comics more than couple pieces only. I kind of liked some X-men movies and some TV-series they did show many years ago thought...

I used to read more things like Donald Duck, Asterix & Obelix and Lucky Luke while watching Ninja Turtles or other disney stuff, but none of those probably won't belong to either categories...

Marvel. Most Marvel heroes were flawed and thrived despite of their flaws. Peter Parker was an awkward nerd. The X-Men are hated mutants. Daredevil is a blind man.

DC heroes are too perfect. Bruce Wayne is a rich playboy. Clark Kent has to pretend to be an ordinary guy. As a kid and young adult, I preferred the underdog.

Wow! I didn't know Transformers was Marvel! Damn, there goes my street cred. In that case, Marvel wins, hands down! Love the Transformers to bits! Brings out the little kid in me. So does Batman.
They don't make them like they used to, though :crying:

Transformers aren't Marvel.

Transformers is an entertainment franchise co-produced between the Japanese Takara Tomy and American Hasbro toy companies. Initially developed as a brand by Hasbro and made up of renamed, rebranded transforming toys from Takara's Diaclone and Microman toylines, the franchise began in 1984 with the Transformers toy line, and centers on factions of transforming alien robots (often the Autobots and the Decepticons) in an endless struggle for dominance or eventual peace. In its decades-long history, the franchise has expanded to encompass comic books, animation, video games and films. Link

I have to disagree on that one. The rich playboy is a freakin' facade. He's human and he makes mistakes. His head isn't screwed on right(childhood trauma). What kind of a person in his right mind would do what he does: dress up like a bat and all that jazz?

In the context of THIS thread, Transformers is perfectly valid. Because Marvel wrote Transformers comics for years, and many serious fans of Gen 1 hold the Target 2006, Space Pirates, Time Wars etc stories written by Simon Furman, among their favourite parts of the canon. For me, THE best stories in TF history.

So don't tell me "Transformers aren't Marvel" when Marvel wrote the characters I read and loved for eight fucking years.

They aren't Marvel. There's a Marvel version, that is all.

It's just not that great of a version. Also, the art is horrible in many of the Marvel comics.

Marvel has done a ton of toy tie-ins over the decades. A few of them have been really cool. Both The Micronauts and ROM were really good series that they eventually incorporated into the mainstream Marvel Universe.

As far as comics go at one time I would have said Marvel with no question. Now I think both companies have screwed things up so bad they both suck equally. I have to go back decades to have memories of when the characters and plots were good.

I had a favorite character when I was younger that didn't survive into the 80s... a DC comic called Turok, Son of Stone. He started out as a back of the comic second feature.
Also Adam Strange, the Atom, others who didn't survive the realism, intensity, and creative characters of Marvel.
DC was able to stick around but really had to overhaul their style and philosophy.
