Martin Milner has died.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
It seems like a lifetime ago that there were still wholesome, decent shows on TV that a family could sit down and watch together. As a kid, I watched "Adam 12" with my parents, along with "Emergency!". And there were at least a few episodes where the Adam 12 guys would be on Emergency. DeSoto and Gage (the main characters in Emergency!) were somewhat like firefighter versions of Reed and Malloy on Adam 12. But they were both cool shows, even if there were a few similarities. And IMO, they tried to teach good lessons, instead of the faux edgy, PC schtick that the formulaic, copycat TV series employ now.

R.I.P. Martin Milner.

And I just heard that the "sock it to me!" girl from "Laugh In" died today too. R.I.P., to Judy Carne as well.

MeTV is great. They show episodes of "Adam12" and "Emergency" back to back. Or at least they used to. Can't find it on Direct Tv. Nobody in the history of entertainment has had a better name than Randolph Mantooth.

Actually, no one in the history of names has had a better name than Randolph Mantooth. I.M. Hipp comes pretty close.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
My wife had a huge crush on Randolph Mantooth when she was a kid. I never really got into Emergency all that much, but I loved Adam 12, and met them both at the Autorama in Cleveland, when I was like 6 or something. I loved Dragnet too, Joe Friday was the original no biullshit cop. He actually produced, or developed BOTH shows, and was once married to the girl "Dixie" on Emergency....who was atually married to one of the doctors on the show.

R.I.P. Mr. Milner

For the EMPEROR!!
I didn't recognise the name until I saw the picture of him in the link. I remember watching Adam 12, but Route 66 only the name rings a bell, not the show itself. Adam 12 and Emergency were the best when I was knee high to a grasshopper.

It's funny when I remember Emergency the thing that comes to mind was them calling 'Rampart' on the CB radio to give the Doc's the patients vital stats.. Cutting edge tech back in the day.

Anyway RIP Martin, you brought a lot of fun and joy to a little kid who wanted to be a cop when he was a toddler... Then a Fireman the next day. lol

News to me. He did a lot of early television back in his youth. Especially sci-fi stuff. He was in that memorable doppleganger episode of the original Twilight Zone. He will be missed.

R.I.P. to the "sock it to me!" girl from "Laugh In", Judy Carne as well.
