A doctor checks Guo Qingpo's breasts before surgery
We call them man-boobs, but the medical term for the condition is gynecomastia, and Mr Qingpo was an extreme case.
The 53-year-old Chinese man had always suffered from large breasts, but they grew suddenly from 2008 to the size of footballs, with a hospital in Dezhou, Shandong province, organising 20 experts from eight departments to work out how to treat him.
In the end, surgery was deemed the best option, and two teams tackled a breast each during a six-hour procedure.
Their combined weight was 5kg.
Guo checked out of hospital at the end of April this year after a month of recovery.
Gynecomastia can be a symptom of something more serious such as a testicular tumour, or the result of a hormone-secreting tumour of the breast, lung or other organ.
