A 13-year-old Ohio girl who had gone missing with her brother, mother and a family friend was found safe early today, authorities said.
The other three people have not been located.
Sarah Maynard was been found safe in the basement of a home in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and was being evaluated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She was allegedly found bound and gagged.
Matthew Hoffman, 30, is under arrest for kidnapping, with additional charges expected.
The whereabouts of the teen's mother, Tina Herrmann, brother Kody Maynard and family friend Stephanie Sprang are still unknown.
Ohio police are still searching for the trio, whose alarming disappearance prompted an Ohio college to go on lockdown overnight as police warned of a 'potentially dangerous person in the vicinity'.
The 32-year-old Herrmann was reported missing by her boyfriend on Wednesday. When she did not show up for work at a Dairy Queen on Thursday, her co-workers went to her Howard home looking for her and soon after called the police.
Knox County Sheriff David Barber said: 'A co-worker came out and met deputies out here. Her truck was gone.'
Still missing with Herrmann are her 10-year-old son and Sprang, 41.
Freed: Sarah Maynard, 13, was discovered by police in a Mount Vernon basement and is being treated in hospital. Her mother Tina Herrmann is still missing
Whereabouts unknown: Herrman's son Kody Maynard, 10, and 41-year-old family friend Stephanie Sprang have not bee seen since Wednesday
The sheriff said: 'When [Herrmann's co-worker] went in, she saw some things out of place.'
He said a search of the home revealed it to be in 'unusual condition' for a place where woman and children lived, but did not specify what that meant.
Herrmann's ex-husband Larry Maynard said that a co-worker went inside the home and saw blood and things out of place before calling police.
Sheriff Barber and other sheriff's deputies would not comment on Mr Maynard's claim.

Herrmann's boyfriend Greg Borders told the Columbus Dispatch that the couple lived together but were in process of breaking up.
He said he last heard from her on Wednesday via text message, adding: 'We were both going to go our separate ways. We were fairly civil, as civil as you can be living in the same house when you're broken up.'
A spokesman for the FBI field office in Cincinnati said the agency was aware of the incident but could not comment on whether it would get involved in the investigation.

Ms Spring's car was found outside Herrmann's home on Thursday.
Herrmann's pickup truck was at the home on Wednesday when the boyfriend reported her missing, Sheriff Barber said, but it was found abandoned on Thursday night at nearby Kenyon College.
Police alerted the college that they believed the car may have been left there by a person involved in the group's disappearance.
The college sent out an e-mail to students on Thursday night, alerting them that 'local law enforcement advised of a potentially dangerous person in the vicinity'.
A spokesman for the college, however, told the Associated Press that the lockdown was purely precautionary and administrators did not believe students were ever at risk.
The lockdown was lifted at 7am today.
