in Palm Harbor, FL They take in monkeys and apes that have been purchased by people who realize what a tremendous responsibility it is and can no longer keep them. They give them a home and take great care of them. Most of the owners who turn them over to the sanctuary actually come visit them regularly. I have been there when an owner comes and to see the way the Capuchins responded was incredible. It was like when you come home to your dog who is super happy to see you!
The original Cheetah of Tarzan fame lived the final years of his life here. Primates from all over the country end up here. They aren't activists, they simply save the lives of these amazing creatures because more often than not they are euthanized.
I have been working with them for 2 years now and am amazed at the amount of work it takes and the money it takes to keep this place going.
If you have a few dollars to spare for a great cause it would mean a lot to me as well as my extended ****** at the Sanctuary. You can also donate your time like I do. They need volunteers to do all sorts of things. I help make food and fruit smoothies and popsicles.

I was there all day yesterday and had a special moment with a baby Lemur and with my favorite, a Chimp named "Bobby"
