Louis CK's new show: Louie

Anybody watch this? Great show. Super awkward in a really surreal way and very earnest. Last nights episode was probably one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in a while.

The one and only.
I know you did. That's where you get all your beliefs from. If it wasn't for him, you wouldn't have any lines...

Yeah I have been meaning to watch this show...I still miss his old show Lucky Louie on HBO.

They're my own beliefs, he just happens to be a smart guy. It's not like he created a whole new system of belief, a lot of people just relate to it. Now get the fuck out of this thread, Glen Beck.

That show ruled and was highly underrated. I hope Rick Shapiro makes an appearance on Louie.

funny show, funny comedian...the best way for describing the show is with a word analogy: as ray romano's comedy is to everybody loves raymond...louis ck's comedy is to louie

The poker game/gay episode was hilarious! The one before that, 'dating' was even funnier. Every episode has been outstanding and last night's 'high' episode was ridiculous.

Not everone will get it, I'm sure, but it is on a perfect venue with FX alongside 'Sunny'

I like it. Pretty funny, even though he sometimes almost gets carried away.

It'd be interesting to see, why different people laught at some of his jokes or sketches, because a lot of the stuff in this show gives you the opportunity to laugh about it for different reasons. That makes the show a lot smarter than it appears at first sight.

i couldnt get a screen cap of it, but the scene where hes in the woods and the girl tells him to "whip it out" the "adult" Louie facial expression is so priceless... hahahaha...

I saw the episode where the mom came out. I don't watch sitcoms (or TV in general) as a habit, but it was enjoyable I guess.

The thing is, the distant, emotionally vacant mother has been done to death in tv comedy over the last several years. If she's a staple character, I'm out. Also, it really doesn't work so well as a half hour comedy. There was a looming subplot where Louie's brother tried to get him to go into a threesome so he could bang some chick and I was expecting it to pan out into something bigger. Even if it was just throwaway "funny" dialog, it seemed crammed in and the episodes seem to have an overly abrupt ending. Also, unlike other "smart comedies", this seems more like it's just watching Louie getting frustrated and angry than witnessing a witty look at things. But that's from watching only one episode.

If I happen to be watching TV when another episode comes on, I'll watch. But I won't actively peruse any TV show until The Walking Dead hits. Or in The History Channel has another season of The Universe or Clash of the Gods.

deeply developed plots and congruent endings are not to be found in this show...thats what makes it great. Its comedy. No bullshit or stupid stories, just comedy.

It really does take it to another level, though. You hate this woman in a really different way, not like the "ill have another martini and xanax" distant mother, which is usually how it's portrayed.

It's a really absurd show, and it's a lot more vignette-y than linear.
