London Olympic Games 2012

Well, there is quite a bit of stuff I am looking for. I am looking at if Phelps can win more hardware but the main story in swimming will be Ryan Lochte and if he can equal Phelps mark of 8 golds, because he is at the age where he can challenge Michael and also the return of Ian Thorpe. Over in basketball, I'd like to see how the new USA basketball Redeem Team does after winning the Worlds the year. Gymnastics, the USA women's team has some new talent to add with a lot of new faces, Shawn Johnson and Nastia Luikin will return from last years team as Jordyn Weiber and others from this year's world champ winning team will be new and Alicia Sacramone is back for another go at a gold after making two crucial mistakes in Beijing in 2008. In Track and Field, can Usain Bolt continue to be the fastest man? or is someone else gonna take that title? All Olympics are exciting and uplifting and this one should be no different! I am a guy and I'll watch any Olympic Sport as long as its in the Olympics.

I know many of you will think it odd, but I really enjoy watching ping-pong, or table tennis or whatever. Played at an olympic level, I find it very entertaining.

I like all of the olympics. I'm a junkie when it's on.

I´m mostly looking forward to the swimming, since that´s where Sweden have it´s biggest medal chances. Maybe this time Therese Alshammar can finally win a gold in the 50m freestyle, but our best chance of a gold is probably Sarah Sjöström in the 100m butterfly or 100m freestyle. Other things i will follow closely is the track & field and the team sports where Sweden is represented.

Fencing, shooting and sailing.....if they get covered at all. Like Dirk, I enjoy watching ping-pong; and I'll add badminton to the list.

My first Olympics was '72. I was too young to comprehend the terrorist attack, but I remember Olga Korbut. She's my Olympic hero and always will be.

For you youngsters, back then both Summer and Winter Games were held in the same year. I think it was changed around '80 or '84. I was some kind of pissed, but I got over it. But I do think that the Olympics lost something when they changed it to the current system.

The summer and winter olympics were held the same year until 1992. The next olympic games were held 1994 in Lillehammer (winter).

Hmmm...I thought it was earlier than that. I was considering looking it up, but my cat is demanding my attention, so I blew it off. Figures I'd be that far off.

Track and fields.
I will probably as usual watch swimming, boxing, wrestling, rowing, canoes and so on until the tracks begins.

Team USA basketball is okay, but nine times out of 10 they are going to win. I will give them some attention if they put my man Love on that squad. I wouldn't mind getting a Love USA jersey either. I believe he does already have one from the World Championships.

Really? Ully lives in London and I have to be the one to do this?

We can only hope it goes better than the rehearsals... For the populace, that is...

I live about 5 miles from the Olympic Village, funny thing is there is no one here who thinks anything of it, on the whole people think it's a waste of money that would have been better spent elsewhere, in terms of 'regeneration' the Borough Of Newham is a crime ridden shithole where over half the people are on welfare so the Olympic Site looks out of site. Hackney is right next to the Olmpic Site and that's where most of the summers rioting was, I feel sorry for the international visitors who end end visiting the areas around the Olympic Village, they won't be left with a great impression of visiting London, not enough good people live here anymore.
