Even if the picture doesn't actually have adult content, many hosters seem to disallow even linking to adult boards <strong>regardless of the image content</strong>. [QUOTE="Automate, post: 5419589, member: 340712"] I've been taking note of people using imageshack, photobucket and tinypic and some other non-adult picture hosts while posting to the [i]Identify / Name the Babe[/i] section. Those images will be rather transient, since adult content is against the terms of use of all these hosting sites. Even if the picture doesn't actually have adult content, many hosters seem to disallow even linking to adult boards [b]regardless of the image content[/b]. Even if the image isn't removed, the hosts check the referrer URL and seeing that it comes from FreeOnes, will just display the "******" image. That's why copy-pasting the link to a new tab or window might work in these cases (there's no referrer URL bring sent when you open a link in a completely fresh new tab or window by copy-pasting). Hotlinking is disabled in a similar manner, even to thumbnail sized pictures. Anyway, it's somewhat bothersome to see people attempting to use these hosts regularly and then having problems with them. So, I'm suggesting an amendment to the quick posting rules on the [i]Identify / Name the Babe[/i] section listing the good and bad image hosts. Something like this: "[i]Please note that if you only have a picture to go with the identification request and no link to go with it (and no way to attach it to the thread while still following board rules), you must use an [b]adult[/b] image hosting service to first upload the picture and then post the link. [b]These are the known good hosting sites, use the one that best suits your purposes:[/b] [url]http://www.imagevenue.com[/url] Allowed file types: JPG File size limit: 3 MB Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size Note from their FAQ: "The storage period of your images on our server is unlimited. However, if your image has not been accessed for more than 1 year, it will be deleted from our server." [url]http://www.imagebam.com[/url] Allowed file types: GIF, JPG, PNG File size limit: 4 MB Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size [url]http://www.hotchyx.com[/url] Allowed file types: JPG File size limit: 2.5 MB Max image resolution: 4000 x 4000 [url]http://www.pimpandhost.com[/url] Allowed file types: BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG File size limit: 5 MB Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size [url]http://www.postimage.org[/url] Allowed file types: BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, PSD, TIFF File size limit: 5 MB Max image resolution: apparently not restricted by anything other than the file size [URL="http://www.mahometown.com"]http://www.mahometown.com[/URL] No login required Upload upto 50 files per batch File size limit: 10.24 MB Allowed file types: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .gif Creates picture gallery automatically BBCODE and HTML embed codes Freely resize your image embed codes after upload is done, between (50x50 minimum, 500x500 maximum) While uploading your pictures to these services, there are options for marking them "ADULT" for imagevenue, imagebam and postimage. Use that option and your links will then work properly and the images will stay on their servers. Hotchyx and pimpandhost seem to automatically assume that the pictures have adult content so there's no need to mark it as such when using their services. It's worth noting that if you want to use a picture in your signature, these same hosting services should be used for doing that as well. [b]These are the sites that you DO NOT WANT to use in any circumstances here on FreeOnes:[/b] - imageshack - photobucket - tinypic - imgur - flickr -imagehost -imagepost -dumparump -4chan -pic-upload.de -nudespuri.com - any other random image host on the web that doesn't explicitly state that they allow adult content in their terms of service If your pictures do not work or get deleted, it's probably because you uploaded them to one of these non-adult hosts. Use only the good hosts mentioned above. FreeOnes isn't the one removing your pictures and breaking your links in these cases (unless your link comes up with ****, for that read the sticky thread at the top of the forum section), it's the original image host doing it because porn is against their terms of use.[/i]" Since I've been using imagevenue myself, I am more familiar with its features than the other hosting sites. Here are some additional details that I posted to another thread: [url]http://board.freeones.com/showpost.php?p=4629893&postcount=4[/url] Forum members might want to post their experiences and any possible problems they've encountered while using these hosts in this thread as well as additional suggestions for good adult image hosting sites. That would be very welcome. Unfortunately there's no way to directly input this information to the brains of new members, so it's guaranteed that many will continue to make mistakes with using non-adult hosting sites. However, I would hope that putting this here will decrease the amount of these cases somewhat. I think I might have been able to adjust the wording to make this clearer to understand, but I'm just going to post this now. If I end up tweaking this too much, I might do that forever (took me long enough to write this as it is). This information is correct to the best of my knowledge. Though I just know that I'm forgetting something important from this... [/QUOTE]
