Three awards in a row really proves his talent on a football pitch. He know where the ball ig going before it moves, he knows what all the other players are going to do, before they do it. Imo he is the best in the world and winning worlds best player three years in a row proves that.

Having beaten Ronaldo and Xavi in this years competition, Lionel Messi winns the Ballon D'or once more in 2011/12

Best in the world! Messi wins Ballon d'Or as Guardiola and Ferguson are also honoured

As impressive as Cristiano Ronaldo is, in terms of sheer skills...

He lacks (In my opinion) the biggest asset a team player must have:

Team spirit.

So it has to be Messi

Not by far my personal top 10, but hey...

Messi is beyond competition. He (well, actually the complete Barca team) makes football look so beautiful and ridiculous at the same time. It all seems so easy. It's magnificent.
I watch all matches from Barcelona online and it's always a pleasure for the eye if you see how these guys can play the game, they are controlling it. And the main thing is, this is for so many years they play the same game over and over again, and no other team seems to know or find an answer on their briliant game and timing.

The one and only.
If more Americans watched Lionel Messi and Barca play, there would be a helluva lot more fans of the sport over here. He's just plain fun to watch. Truly a man among boys on the pitch.

To celebrate, he went out and blew all his teammates and coaching staff.

BMH, you were expecting somebody else?

I'm not really surprised he won, i'm just happy Ronaldo didn't win. He has so much talent but he just lets it go to waste by not playing with his team.
Messi can score, but he can also make some amazing passes. All Ronaldo thinks about is run, almost as if he thinks he is Forrest Gump.

I bet if he would shoot from an impossible angle instead of passing to a team mate who needs another gola to get his hat trick or a landmark goal. He's just to selfish Imo.

I like Xavi but i don't like Ronaldo

You know what the main problem of Messi is in my opinion? I think he can do better then he's performing now. The only problem he faces is, who can teach him? This level of football it that high, nearly from outer space, and still he hasn't reached his limits.
