Links in emails don't work in gmail

This is gmail's fault, not Freeoneses*.
Basically links with no 'www', that are a mix of upper & lower case letters don't get turned into clickable links when viewed in gmail.
Full explanation here (it's short).
I just did a check, and freeones links with upper case also work if those letters are made lower case, e.g.

So, devs, again notwithstanding that this is google's fault, given that they will likely NEVER fix any of their bugs**, how hard would it be to either:
a. build something that down-cases the links when the emails get compiled
b. build something that down-cases the links when the URLs are generated for the threads?

Cheers!

*sounds ridiculous

Yea, we've been seeing this complaint on and off since around November of last year. :brick: Google changed something, probably to try to combat spam, that totally screws up URLs made from subdomains. :******:

As you stated, there really isn't anything we can do about it at this point since it's on google's side.

Odd thing is that not everyone's mails are affected. For example, the auto mails I have coming from the board and myFreeOnes link.

I can also say that up until now, Yahoo mail is working. So if the links are THAT important to people (i.e. you don't want to copy/paste), then consider making a mail for your FreeOnes account at Yahoo. Other than that, maybe Google will get their **** together when this ends up affecting one of their big advertisers. :)

Cheers Petra.

As it turns out, it was me switching from yahoo to gmail which made me realise this!

Sorry, I think I was kinda ambiguous in my wording - what I meant by the A & B suggestions was, "would it be possible for FREEONES devs to make either of those code insertions to circumvent this problem (which google will probably not fix forever)?"

And yeah, as we both agree - defo google's fault & therefore arguably not freeones' responsibility to fix it... but if either of these workarounds, especially the first one, are easy to implement, then that could be problem solved...

Cheers

Unfortunately, there's nothing we can put into the code since the mail template is nothing but html/css. My guess is there's either a bug, or they inserted something to ignore the link tags in the mail's template.

It would be interesting to know if they're targeting other porn sites like this.
