Limbaugh Career in Freefall - Why'd it Take So Long?

The blow-hard radio host that every other radio host will say they **** but respect, is falling from grace in a rapid spiral downward. His ratings are at an all-time low and he's being dropped by more stations in red states which is a very serious sign that his show is in big trouble.

He's already lost the largest media markets in the US, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Indianapolis and his show has been shopped recently to station managers across the country who are passing on it due to high price and bad ratings. It no longer sells to advertisers like it used to. Conservative talk radio is a “format fewer advertisers are interested in buying because of its aging audience,” noted radio consultant and self-identified Republican Darryl Parks.

Rush has overcome a major scandal when he was caught buying opiates illegally after a career of demanding the harshest punishments possible for **** users. Then he had that foot-in-the-mouth issue when he blasted college student Sandra Fluke who testified before congress about the costs of her health care and birth control. He called her a slut and demanded she has to make sex videos to share publicly in exchange for her birth control. He is obviously not familiar in the ways of the pussy getting world because he didn't even know that you don't take the pill every time you sex! Advertisers dropped him in big numbers over that and he has never rebounded.

To see this hypocrite fat fuck loud mouth failing is a very uncomfortable pleasure. I don't usually like to see someone failing but that's usually when their life is affected and can't pay the bills. But Rush has plenty of money so that isn't the case. It's his enormous ego that is taking the pounding which is the beauty of it for me. He'll never have to worry about his finances because there is a very loyal fan base of mindless sheep who will always be there to listen to him drone on and on about the same ****. Glen Beck has 80,000 people paying him $9 monthly for his pod cast and if he can make that kind of scratch then surely Rush can too.

But isn't the irony that the guy who signed a $250 million contract and turned advertisers away is now a pariah on the radio just so sweet? It is to me.

Limbaugh himself recently conceded a generational disconnect: “Now that I’ve outgrown the 25-54 demographic, I’m no longer confident that the way I see the world is the way everybody else does.”

Here’s a perfect example. In April, Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin conducted an awkward interview with Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz, asking the Hispanic candidate about Cuban food and if he’d answer at least one question in Spanish. Limbaugh immediately castigated Halperin’s Q&A on his show, but nobody seemed to pay much attention to his complaints.

Fast-forward one week and syndicated conservative columnist Ruben Navarrette lodged similar complaints about the interview. (i.e. “This was bad journalism, bad form, and bad manners.”) Except this time the complaint went viral and Helperin was quickly ****** to apologize.

At BuzzFeed, a writer marveled at how Halperin’s controversial interview had gone unnoticed for nine days. But it hadn’t gone unnoticed. Limbaugh highlighted the interview right away. It’s just that nobody cared about the talker’s critique at the time.
