Where does it say in that snippet that liberals think the Statue of Liberty is racist? Where does it mention in that snippet anything to do with liberalism? Where does it mention that Kennicott is a liberal? Why wouldn't you say that the Statue of Liberty is sexist and anti-immigrant as the snippet mentions both those things too? Why are you posting a clip of an article that is two and a half years old? Why are you such a huge donger?

Nice slogan. Maybe we should adopt it? America has been running from it since (and prior to) the Statue of Liberty was dedicated in the mid-1880s. The Chinese Exclusion Act was passed in 1882 and repealed in 1942. America has never been accepting of newcomers.

Slogans, symbolism, and words are easy. People actively giving a shit, people actually doing things that fundamentally and significantly make life better for others, and people sacrificing for the better wellbeing of everyone is hard. The later happens much less often. In that respect the Statue of Liberty is kind of meaningless. That's not cancelling something so much as just acknowledging reality.
