Liberalism: don't strive for excellence, we don't keep score

I don't have an article to link; these are just my own thoughts/rant

Strive for perfection, but settle for excellence. I first heard that phrase in a workplace meeting ascribed to some CEO, but googling it, I'm seeing Don Shula and Vince Lombardi's names come up. Regardless, this is one of the distinctions between conservatives and liberals IMO and why Trump (who is no conservative) is almost universally despised by the left and loved by Joe Blows of this country. He lives in a world where there are winners and losers and we keep score - a simplistic and even bigoted concept for those erudite among us.

I dunno, I'm trying to sound smart, but I'm nowhere near as smart as some of you here. But if given the choice, I'd rather have good 'ol fashion common sense. Wisdom>intelligence.
