Julie Keith was unpacking some of last year's Halloween decorations when she stumbled upon an upsetting letter wedged into the packaging.
Tucked in between two novelty headstones that she had purchased at Kmart, she found what appeared to be a letter from the Chinese laborer , who had made the decoration, pleading for help.
Ok, so, anyone who knows me knows my extreme anti-Chinese sentiments due to their blatant disregard for human rights. I would rather pay twice as much for something, or go without it altogether, than buy something stamped "Made in China". This is proof that my sentiments are not unfounded. Here is a note from a faceless someone praying that someone will save them from the hell that their government allows them to live in. The sad thing is that it's not only their government that allows that, but we as consumers who would rather save a few measly dollars than to take a stand for the rights of those who are forced into slavery.
Land of the free and the home of the brave? Only when it's convenient.
