Well, Im from The Netherlands, so my choice is Teach In - Ding a Dong.
My first memory of the Eurovision Songfestival was in the '80's and the winner was Buck's Fizz.

Eurovision -- cheesier than a wheel of 4 month old Roquefort. Sadly, I know a little too much about this monstrous freak show, having lived in Sweden for a considerable while. It's not just Eurovision that's big there, the contest which decides the country's entry, Melodifestivalen, is also considered compulsive viewing. Jävla schlagerelände!
To my shame, I actually got dragged along to one in Leksand a couple of years ago... the only redeeming moment in the entire evening was seeing the mouth-watering Hannah Graaf wiggle around like Jessica Rabbit in a figure hugging sparkly dress. :eek:
Anyway... you missed the most obvious Eurovision song of all -- Abba's Waterloo!

I was seven years old, and I don`t think I followed this contest more than about maybe two years after this. At least this is the only song I remember from this whole thing.
Well ok Lordi too, it was quite unexpected for a Finnish artist to win, and press was raving about it here so much you just couldn`t get away from it without noticing.

I have no idea what Eurivision is, but Sleeping Sun is a great song by one of my current favorite bands.

Europe has TVs and shows. That's startling news to me. As an American I know there is no culture outside of the USA.

My best friends girlfriend is from the US and she said: we Americans are from the new world. So we don't have a past and history. Europe is the old world, much older and much more history.
About the Eurovision Songfestival:
today, it's boring. Since the USSR fell apart, Eastern Europe rules and give the points to each other. It's just like politics.
