Legalize same sex marriage and pot!

They both should be legal, but I couldn't care less whether or not they become legal. I don't smoke pot and I don't fuck men. Well...I don't smoke pot.

This will never be resolved. Some people will always hate/dislike so it will aways be a fight even if it was to be made legal it wouldn't change peoples feelings Topless is now legal for females here but you almost never see a girl do it because "society" still thinks its wrong. Society doesn't change just because a law does.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
That means I can get high with married lesbian couples, woohoo I win!

Is this STILL a question in todays society?

Unfortunately, yes. As for same-sex marriage, the majority of our masses are just mindless fools who've let themselves be manipulated by religious groups, and the politicians go along with it to garner votes for the next election. The truth is, there is no valid reason keep things as is.

As for pot, that's a much dicier subject. I don't really have any opinion for or against, but I will say this; If the federal government ever does legalize it, I'm 99% certain they will only do so in such a way that the legalized version is watered-down, so to speak, and the weakened version would skew any research in favor of repealing the legalization.

For the EMPEROR!!
Meh. .. It doesn't apply to me, as the first isn't my cup of tea and I stopped smoking pot a couple of years ago. ... That said, I wouldn't be against either. If your not hurting anyone, do what you feel. :2 cents:

Pot should be legal, it is less harmful than booze.

Why not let them be as miserable and loose half of their possessions in a divorce like the rest of us?

AFK..being taken to the vet to get neutered.
^^ what he said. If people want to get monged out, that's their business not the state's.

As for gay marriage ... that this is even still a debate says all that needs to be said about the sad, sad state of society today.

We are so far away from any kind of social or moral enlightenment, it is heartbreaking.

Ah, well. maybe in the next life it'll be better ...

What people do in the privacy of their own homes is their business. After all, I like looking at porn and I would not want people to bother me about it.

Legalize pot too if not only for the enormous tax revenue it would provide to an ailing economy. Legalize and regulate, isn't that the premise behind alcohol, cigarettes and prescription drugs?

I don't think they should keep leaving pot smokers out.

Actually that argument doesn't work.

Fact (according to papa): the government collects much more tax by making you fear pot than they ever would be able to collect if they legitimized it. Figure the government taxed us to the tune of 980+ billion dollars to support the "war on drugs" based solely on creating anxiety in the public.

Fact (according to papa): The only additional jobs that would be created would bureaucratic and/or regulatory that would add nothing to the economy. There may be a shift in jobs - but from what I've read, and experienced personally, consumption would remain relatively stable - thus no additional jobs. In fact, if it were legal, many, if not all current guys in the business would be taken over by people with a clue about business. Any reasonably competent farmer could raise weed much more efficiently that current practice - putting thousands of growers out of business immediately.

By making it legal, the government could then tax the income of said jobs but it still wouldn't come close to the amount of revenue they can milk from frightened sheep.

Fact (according to papa): Government has built a 980 billion dollar empire to fight drugs - there is no way the people that benefit from these organizations will allow a change in the status quo. After all, would you want to give up your spy-toys, speed-boats and airplanes just because someone wants a little freedom to do with their own bodies what they please? Hell no - you'd say, "fuck freedom, I love my toys" just like (almost) ever-other motherfucker living in this sorry as world.

Fact (according to papa): If weed were legalized, prisons would be empty.
OK - I'm stretching it a little on this one - but the prison empire would also suffer a loss, just like the DEA - tough shit - Legalize ALL drugs - punish criminal behavior.

Fact (according to papa): = it's my belief based on lots and lots of research. Feel free to make up your own mind - just try to think critically and make the decision based on sound research. Then we can debate.

It will make for some fun receptions.

If they legalized marijuana then cigarette companies would have a way to get back all the money they had to pay out for their filthy, dirty ad campaigns. If same-sex marriage was legalized, the bridal wear companies would stand to make literally millions of dollars on lightweight and double knit tuxedos. But the cake decorators would lose money, because they have to replace the little brides and grooms on top of the cakes with brides and brides, or grooms and grooms.
