Led Zeppelin

For the EMPEROR!!
Can you blame them? Tolkien was a great author.

You got that right. He's my favourite author, his books started my love for reading. So maybe that's why I love Led Zep as well. :D

Wasn't Led Zeppelin their gym teachers name? What kind of gay band does that?? A bunch of queers if you ask me. Oasis makes these guys look like punks.

That was Lynryd Skynyrd, fucking DUH.... Their teacher's name was Leonard Skinnard, and he used to give the band **** for never changing into gym clothes and having long hair. They actually played their first show under the band name "Leonard Skinner" as a big "fuck you" to the guy that gave them **** every day at Robert E. Lee High School... But they were warned that they could be sued for using the gym teacher's name, so the changed it to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Duh. :2 cents::dunno:

Good but more importantly.....They where JRR Tolkien fans its clear from lyrics on at least three songs known to me. Of course two of which can also relate to other things.

Queen of light- Galadriel

Hobbit rambling......Mordor directly quoted.

Greatest Blues 'cover band' or 'plagarist' ever:dunno::1orglaugh

Ripping off old Black Ameican Blues musicians for what amounted to millions & refusing to give them credit until their asses are sued.

At least Eric Clapton, The Rollin Stones(Their name a tribute to Muddy Waters) & even The Beatles acknowledged that American Blues musicians was the SOUL/INSPIRATION behind their music & actually gave them publishing credit when they DIRECTLY copied their works.:hatsoff:

Girk you ignorant slut.
First of all no one denies that rock music had it's roots in the old black blues of the 20's and 30's.
And when you say SOUL inspiration do you mean SOLE, as in only?
if so you are wrong. The Stones, The Beatles ect ect were influenced by not only the old black mans blues but by others like buddy holly, chuck berry many others.
Second, there has been very little robbery of royalties in the music biz. Its a legal matter, so if you use it, you gotta pay for it, otherwise get sued.
I suppose some of the record companies screwed performers out of writing credit and royalties throughout history, but color isn't an issue there.

Thats the news good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Here's one. And the group they took it from weren't Black American Blues musicians...

Led Zeppelin opened up for Spirit during a few California concerts in 1969 doing some of their songs, such as "Fresh Garbage" and "Nature's Way." The bands were quite friendly. Ed Cassidy and John Bonham became good fast friends. Bonham was intrigued by Cassidy's use of his "mits" playing the skins and banging the drumkit with his bare hands.

However with Randy California's "Taurus" and Jimmy Page's signature song, "Stairway to Heaven" -- Yes, they do have amazing similarities. Jimmy took the main melody riff. Although, Randy California didn't mind at all. In fact, Randy, when her was alive, thanked and praised Jimmy. Randy said, "The riff can now live on." And so, no lawsuit was ever filed, unlike The Cliffons/Allen Klein and George Harrison saga ("He's So Fine/My Sweet Lord")

"Taurus" - 1968:

"Stairway to Heaven" - 1971:

I heard that Robert Plant once swallowed an entire gallon of semen. Oh, wait...that was Rod Stewart.

When forming Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page approached Keith Moon and John Entwistle(drummer and bassist from The Who) and asked them to consider joining the new band he was making...Keith said, "that would go over like a lead balloon", and John added,"more like a lead zeppelin!". The group deliberately dropped the 'a' in lead at the suggestion of their manager, Peter Grant, to prevent "thick Americans" from pronouncing it "leed".

anyway here's a wallpaper of Robert Plant i made. nothing fancy, just different pics of Plant over the years.

is i shook you all night long by ac/dc a cover of you shook me? my *** said it is

The short answer is no it was not. "You Shook Me" by Led Zeppelin a blues song and it WAS a cover of a Muddy Waters song.....but "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC is not a cover of any song at all. Was the blues song (the lyrics or title) an inspiration for the AC/DC song? Possibly....but a cover it was not.
