Lebron to the Lakers

There's a reason for celebs to be seen at Lakers games now. It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since their last playoff appearance.

Though his numbers haven't really shown it, after 14 seasons and at 33-years-old he has to be on the downslope of his career.

They need another star like Kawhi Leonard to even think about getting back to the Finals.

A resurgent Lakers can only be good for the league.

Boston has to be the favorite out the East next season. Celtics vs. Lakers will always have that special ring to NBA fans.

I love it because there is no way in hell the Lakers are going deep in the playoffs with that roster. If I had a team I would not trade for Kawhi. He missed practically the last season and people are expecting him to just waltz in and return to the player he was before. It was really telling that Paul George stayed with Oklahoma rather than join the Lakers.

From watching the playoffs, it felt like the youngsters in the East were so scared of LeBron that they choked - especially Toronto. But in the West, I don't know who all is going to be joining LeBron in L.A., but I don't think he carries the same intimidation factor out there. Seems like the Lakers will have to attract some more REAL talent to even think about matching up against Golden State or Houston.

Lol!

At Madison Square Garden yesterday, Lakers lose to the Knicks ... Do the Knicks have any good players left? Now that is really really bad! :rofl2:

If the Lakers don't land a big fish this summer, I think it'll be safe to call the Lebron experiment a failure. If they have to wait another year to lure a big name there, I'm not sure that a 38 year old(?) Lebron is going to make a difference, no matter who else is there. Just put Doris Burke on the court and let her lull the other team to sleep with her droning about nothing.

I have never seen so much attention to a team as crap as the Lakers by ESPN.It reminds me of watching golf tournaments that Tiger Woods had no chance to win yet the network would not miss showing any of his shots.

I admit:

I am an outsider on the NBA. Of course, Lebron James is known to me, but I didn't know what was the deal about him exactly, and what kind of a player he is. So I did some research:

I assue he is a aggressive, creative player, and someone who can rally a team around him, and get them motivated. I understand why a team struggling with getting back into the competition would give iot a shot and hire him.

But why are so many of you so angry? It's just a sport, and he is just one player. He is no semigod.

Supa , you may have seen this description of Lebron James as G.O.A.T. That means some sportswriters consider him the Greatest Of All Time.

He's not. Michael Jordan is greatest player ever. There are ten players better than Lebron:

My rankings:

01. Michael Jordan
02. Bill Russell
03. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
04. Wilt Chamberlain
05. Magic Johnson
06. Larry Bird
07. Kobe Bryant
08. Julius Erving
09. Isiah Thomas
10. Dennis Rodman
11. Lebron James

Many people will agree with my assessment. :)

Sounds like the Durant injury has thrown a spanner wrench into the free agency situation. Anthony Davis may be heading to L.A. afterall??? :dunno: I think the Lakers should trade Lonzo Ball for a new janitor and two ball boys - who cares? But Brandon Ingram and Kuzma have really good potential, IMO. One thing the Lakers have been good at over the past few years is trading away players that go other places and do well, while not getting much in return. I know that Davis is a real talent, but you have to have a supporting cast that can play too.

Another rumor is that Kyrie might have done a good enough job of saying, "sorry... so, so sorry!" and kissing Lebron's ass that The King might let him come to L.A. for a reunion. Sorry, but I think that Kyrie is overrated. I'd go for someone like Kemba Walker. I know that he doesn't want to leave Charlotte, but he's a better shooter and team player than Kyrie "Mr. Ego" Irving.

P.S. Sorry, John... but I can't see Dennis Rodman ahead of LeBron. No argument, Rodman had loads of heart and spirit. But IMO, he was too one dimensional to be considered in the Top 10. Oscar Robertson, Bob McAdoo, John Havlicek, Elvin Hayes, Wes Unseld (good comparison to Rodman), et al are all guys I'd rate ahead of him. Especially when you go back to the "old days", there's some great players that we've forgotten about. Yeah, I think LeBron would have to go in the Top 10. But you can watch some Michael Jordan clips on YouTube and within five minutes, you'd have to say, that guy wasn't human.
