CBS News on Tuesday revealed that its correspondent Lara Logan is hospitalized while recovering from an ****** she suffered covering events in Egypt's Tahrir Square on February 11th, the day President Hosni Mubarek stepped down.

It reportedly happened during the celebration in the square in which some parts of the mob had been whipped into a frenzy

According to CBS, Logan became separated from her crew and was surrounded by a hostile group.

The statement goes on to say Logan suffered a ****** and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.

After reconnecting with her 60 Minutes crew, Logan flew out of Egypt the following day and was admitted to the hospital.

CBS says there will be no further comment at this time.

Sucks for her...

and yet another reason why crowds are at the bottom of my list. Crazy **** can happen!

Hope the soldiers shot them. Just sayin'. If they were to ***** their power then I certainly wouldn't rebuke them in this one case.

Their (rapists) actions kinda cast a bad light on Egyptian protesters in general. Nobody needs scum like them representing the Egyptian populace.

That is fucking horrible! I actually had worried for her whenever I saw her reporting from certain places, especially standing in a large crowd. I always thought she stood out too much. Still, she went out there and did her job. I would hope that all of those involved were taken down, gotten their asses kicked, arrested, etc., but since it was in such an enormous crowd, it probably didn't happen. Mob mentality is almost always an issue when there is a crowd.

One would hope the individuals involved in the scenes that helped the overthrow of their own tyrannical government would be able to control the anger, jubilation and whatever other emotions they were feeling at that moment in time in order to refrain from reverting to animalistic ********* in the chaos that will inevitably ensue between the abdication of power from the old order and the transfer of it onto the next, in order to try to set some sort of an example for the country as a whole.

Pity a few couldn't control themselves.

I wish her well.

:surprise: Did you just have a moment of solemnity? I was sure there was going to be some kind of disturbing punchline in there.

Kudos. I concur with your statement BB.

Who knows if these people were even activists? There were several women ****d at Woodstock '99. The biggest gripe was that bottled water and **** were way too expensive. They ******ed dozens, ****d many and set **** on fire every chance they could. Assholes are bound to show up in every gathering.

As sick and disgusting as this is, I hope this doesn't come to represent the protests. When there's a crowd in the streets, there will always been a minority to opportunists and predators.

Remember people, this is one example during a period when millions flooded the streets.

This is indeed very terrible news, I hope each one of them are dealt with accordingly.

That is some messed up news, you think they would have some kind of security or something! Poor Lara Logan, putting a blonde beautiful girl with 34 D's in a crowd that angry was not a good idea CBS :cussing: They should of known better.....

I can only pray that proper justice will be done, and hope she makes a quick and full recovery.

I notice BlueBalls has moments like that every once in a while.

Well **** do you think that when you got a very pretty white women doing a report in what is a still very hostile situation in a country where women is still pretty much a second class citizen that something like this will happen?? Not trying to be sexist but really in a situation like this the best person that should be there reporting is a man.

I feel sorry for her and hope she is able to recover but its just a very bad judgement call on CBS.

Just goes to show - these reporters are risking life and limb when they report in these situations - fucking horrible news about this woman.
