Jesse is stunning and one of my fav stars. However I doubt there will ever be another pornstar who dominates the industry quite like Jenna Jameson has done, like Jenna pretty much releases one movie a year now and everyone still seems to be talking about her.

It's all in how Jesse Jane markets herself. Jenna Jameson got to where she is in the adult buisness because she had a strong sales goal attached. She appeared in mainstream movies and on talk shows. I always though Stormy Daniels was going to be the next big porn star because of her work behind the camera as well as in front. I read somewhere that she wants to give up being in front of the camera. Damn that sucks.

I think you really got it down absolutely correct.
Jenna Jameson was not the ultimate porn actress. As other mentioned befroe, there was a lot of arguably hotter or more intense atresses.
But yes, she made the very wise decision to build her own complete internet portal, using the blooming of the new medium for letting her business take off, and she went for getting the rights to the material (pictures and videos) and that meant really gettin gthe money that goes to the companies and studios...
She was the first REAL professional and sexy PLUS smart.
Unless Jesse Jane finds a new niche to make the big next step from being just like any other adult entertainer, she can NEVER be like Jenna Jameson, not by a mile.

Her start was her "innocent/cheerleader"-look of your so called "girl next door" in the USA. Quickly she had her surgery. This was, because she was one of the most beautiful and horniest pornstars in the early and mid 90s. THIS made her career, because there where no others to be able to hold a candle to Jenna. First she was just an actor and model... then she was a producer, label-boss and director... she ABSOLUTELY knew, HOW to make herself indispensable to the porn-industry.

but its not the looks so much as breaking into mainstream, doing talk shows, music videos, tv show appearance, videogames, while still going on tour signings, clubs and stuff. The girl probably doesnt even need to be the greatest hardcore performer ala Gianna Micheals just be willing to work hard flying across the country back and forth.

i'm actually not the biggest fan of jesse's stuff, most of it doesn't really do it for me but she is definitely doing things right as far as her career goes...it seems like she keeps becoming bigger and bigger every year and she actually seems pretty alright in person, i met her once...she looks way hotter in person too IMO

Jenna Jameson was never that great to me. Just a name thats over-hyped from the media and word of mouth. Apparently if enough people say that someone is the greatest then it somehow becomes truth. The greatest porn stars IMO are ironically the ones that rarely receive mention.
I think looking at it as of 2010 we can definitively say that the whole Jesse Jane becoming the new Jenna thing fell flat on it's face. (Like I thought it would even if she had a greater chance than all but a couple of people of pulling it off.) It didn't even come close to happening. I'll even be mildly surprised if Jesse Jane is still in the business more than a year or two from now.
The thing about Jenna Jameson is that you know the name even if you don't watch porn. That is the sort of power that Jesse Jane and other adult stars need to atain. There are tons of adult stars who are probably more talented and way sexier than Jenna, but they need to market themselves outside of the porn industry. Appear more at clubs and do signings. Sasha Grey is starting to appear in more mainstream movies and still work in porn and I wish her luck in both fields.

That is the basic argument for any media stars.
although, I dont think porn stars have the privilege of being industry creations so much as what we consider for example: the music tweens like to listen to. Jenna had to of worked pretty hard/smart to achieve her status. Also considering it is sex and gorgeous bodies , then i think there is plenty of competition out there with studios always "discovering" that new girl. I dont know. If anyone is on their way, Jesse Jane can be it.
