Jeb Bush doesn't 'anticipate' a run

Jeb Bush, who has made clear he isn't running for president this cycle, raised some eyebrows on Sean Hannity's Fox News show Friday night with this comment about a potential campaign:

"I don’t anticipate that. You never say never. This is a standard answer that I’ve kind of learned how to give which is — you never say never, but I never rule out being on Dancing with the Stars either … there are a lot of ways you can make a difference."

He went on, with respect to whether any of the current field can win, "If you recall, my dad in 1992 had an approval rating that was double what President Obama has right now and he was running against the seven dwarfs I think. … And one of those dwarfs became president … dwarf, you know President Clinton, so the notion that somehow these aren’t folks that are capable of winning I just think is ridiculous. These are good people."

They're also, per Bush, "capable. They’ve made the all-in commitment and this yearning for something else is very flattering for someone if you’re that someone else. But in reality I think this race, we have qualified candidates and as it gets closer to the primaries to the caucuses and primaries, I think people will begin to see the mettle of the men and women that are running."

At the same time, of the three Bushes, he's the one that was actually groomed for politics. H. W. Bush came around to it and W. literally fell into it. Jeb was actually one of the better governors Florida had, and most would agree probably the best Republican governor Florida has had in a long, long time.

Jeb was actually one of the better governors Florida had, and most would agree probably the best Republican governor Florida has had in a long, long time.

Right. Right. Now, the trick is to Hooverize Bush. In other words, as the great Michele Goebbels, I mean Bachmann, would do, claim that Hank Paulson and Alan Greenspan were Democrats, claim that the unfunded federal mandates, Medicare Part D and No Child Left Behind, were something that Obama signed into law. Claim that the war in Iraq was paid for, but then when ol' Big Daddy O came in, he all of a sudden spent a trillion dollars all at once. Also, claim that Obama is the one who brought China into the WTO and allowed them to run rampant over American companies and workers. It was his actions that led to Chinese piracy costing us millions of jobs and tens of billions in lost GDP. And we definitely need a modern day Hoot-Smalley moment to truly make this work. Yes! Yes, we can make this work. It may take a few decades (still not working out so well for our boy Herbie Hoover) but we'll keep trying. We need to deny, deny, deny and lie, lie, lie. Repeat after me: there was no crippling recession under W. Bush. It all happened under that tax and spend ,liberal, socialist who quadrupled the deficit in 2 years, Kenyan, secret Muslim, Jew hating, Nazi communist, amnesty for illegal aliens and pay for their kid's college under the "Dream Act!"
