Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Is anybody else getting pissed off with English politicians?
The yanks suffered so badly through the financial crisis that they're finally getting their act together and getting a national health service, while we busily beaver away dismantling our own.
I can see why, it's not like the populace will be unprepared and unable to fund their own healthcare, it's not like it could potentially lead to an epidemic or anything, and the economic crisis was certainly the fault of the poorer parts of Britains society, the bankers deserved their bailout for holding Britain together through that crisis![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
I know that the last time revolution was attempted in England it was cancelled because of rain (no, really, check it out), but I think this is pushing the people a bit far. I for one will leave the country in a few years to go to Greece: At least there the ordinary man can avoid paying tax and swindle the system as well, not just the rich and the politicians. I feel guilty paying tax here.
I'm surprised people aren't getting the tyres slashed on their Porsches and Astins more often.
But apart from that we're doing great; our well-funded and prepared military (just look at the SA80, we didn't have to get H&K to remodel it at all! Apache has no weakness in it's tail rotor and BOWMANs service history is faultless. Indeed, Britain continues it's excellent maritime conditions by having a bigger and better navy than the Netherlands) is doing well and there are no potential problems on the horizon or at current.
Society in Britain is cohesive and peacefull. The gap between rich and poor is small.
Britain is not the underage pregnancy capital of Europe, nor was it until recently the obesity capital of Europe.
Nor is the LS6 postcode, location of Britains biggest university in terms of student numbers, the most sexually diseased post-code in Europe. Nor do we have a reputation as "the dirty man" of Europe in environmental terms.
Lets not forget that, thankfully, the unemployment rate is at an all time low.
In addition to which we enjoy excellent relations with our European neighbours who share our mindset and even better relations with our american cousins, who rewarded our helping them with the just conflicts in the middle east by helping us resolve the recent Falklands furore. This was reminiscent of their previous help with our conflict with the falklands where they provided Britain every support and a British warship absolutely wasn't sunk by an Argentine A4 skyhawk which was sold to Argentinia by the U.S., who, thankfully gave Britain and France their full backing during the Suez crisis, demonstrating a long standing tradition of trans-atlantic co-operation.
Clearly there's no need to change anything at all.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
