Is Trump about to come to my city ?

This is not a political thread, please don't make it one

I live about 2.5 miles from the Golf National de Saint Quentin en Yvelines which is about to host the 2018 Ryder Cup.

There's some rumors here saying that Trump could come :
1) He loves golf
2) US vs Europe
3) US victory is very likely to happen
4) It would offer him a break away from the turmoil he's currently into

If he comes it would draw huge attention, my city will be in the news all over the world which would be great. But it would also mean huge consequences on security measures since the even't security team would then have to follow Trump's security team's orders. It could big changes in tesms of traffic, access to the location, etc.

Do you think it will happen, do you think Trump is gonna come.

Please, if you have any information on that issues, could you report it here ? Like, is it customary for US presidents to attend the Ryder Cup ? Did Trump's predecessors used to attend it ?

In advance, thanks guys :hatsoff:

Using miles instead of kilometers. Interesting.

I don't really know much about Golf, but I don't think US presidents have to or normally attend the Ryder Cup, there is a Presidents Cup which is between the USA & the rest of the world apart from Europe, this one is sometimes attended by the current US president or former US presidents.

No, not at all. Especially not when it's held in Europe.

A bit of trivia: The U.S. hasn't won a Ryder Cup on foreign soil since 1993, meaning they've lost the Cup five times in a row under those conditions.

More trivia: The U.S. won the last Ryder Cup in 2016 on american soil but they haven't scored back to back victories in 25 years. (For those who don't know the cup is played every two years with the site alternating every two years between the U.S and Europe).

In the earlier years of the Ryder Cup the U.S. absolutely dominated the competition, but not so since the 1980s.
