I am currently on my 4th 360. My warranty covered the first two times they broke, but I had to buy a new one the third time. Unless there are exclusive games that you just can't live without, I'd suggest just getting a PS3. It has a blue-ray and online play is free.

Yeah the 360 is trash as far as reliability goes. Like he said...unless there is a killer game for it that you know you want (and it is not available for the PS3) there is no reason to get a 360.

The new models are lightyears ahead of where the old ones were. Pity it took so long to get where they are now.

Xbox rules. I have a 360 and a PS3 but I mainly use the PS3 as a Blu-ray player. With the exception of a few PS3 exclusives, the 360 is my gaming machine.

I'm not sure how good that package is. It's only a 4GB which means you'll need to upgrade the hard drive pretty quick and that's an expense.

For $299 you can get a 250GB. You're just not getting the extra controller. And if you shop around I think you can find cheaper deals on the Live gold pack and the points.

i havent played a gaming console since 2000 and that was a dreamcast which i bought for its online capabilities lol PC games are way better than consoles. consoles are for the poor folks who cant afford a real gaming machine.

I have one of those, too.

Consoles are for people who occassionally want to game while sitting on the couch with their feet up rather than sitting upright at a desk the whole time.

Yes, most of them are defective. On average I replace one about once a year. Microsoft decided that instead of fixing their design flaw in the systems, it would just be cheaper to replace broken systems through warranties. For a while there, they had a 3 year warranty but I think they are only a year now (even though they still suffer RROD). My friend even got the RROD and he hardly ever used his system. It would literally sit there for months. Oh my cousin got RROD too....but he was one of the lucky ones. His lasted about 4 years.
